Demo video: Image Editor Support
Introduction
- WebP is a modern image format that provides superior lossless and lossy compression for images on the web.
- Using WebP, webmasters and web developers can create smaller, richer images that make the web faster.
- Solve the problem you encounter when the system automatically optimizes the images you upload to the website such as: * Image quality after upload is degraded. * The image after uploading is unusually larger than the original image. (Reference: https://github.com/odoo/odoo/issues/61619#issuecomment-1241701494)
Key Features
- Upload WebP images.
- Preview WebP images in backend.
- Convert newly uploaded images to WebP on uploading using the existing Web Media Editor.
- Convert existing images to WebP using WebP Conversion Wizard which is accessible via:
- A dedicated menu entry: Settings > Technical > Database Structure > Convert Attachment Images to WebP.
- Attachment List View's Action menu: Settings > Technical > Database Structure > Attachments.
