Biometric Device Attendance Integration for Odoo
This Odoo module integrates biometric attendance devices with the Odoo HR attendance system. It enables syncing users, fetching attendance records, and creating employee and attendance entries in Odoo based on biometric data. The module supports retry mechanisms, logging, and error handling for better fault tolerance.
Features
1. Attendance Sync
- Biometric Device Connection: Connects to biometric devices (e.g., ZKTeco) using IP and port.
- Retry Mechanism: Automatically retries up to 3 times if connection fails.
- Attendance Filtering: Allows filtering by date range.
- Employee Creation: Auto-creates missing employees in Odoo.
- Duplicate Attendance Prevention: Checks for duplicates before creating records.
- Check-in/Check-out Support: Handles both punch types correctly.
- Multi-Device Sync: Syncs employees across multiple biometric devices.
2. Logging & Error Handling
- Detailed Logs: Tracks connections, processing, and errors.
- Error Notifications: Alerts users on attendance creation errors.
- Exception Logging: Logs all exceptions for debugging.
- Notification System: Currently has an issue with `notify_info` — fix planned in future update.
3. Device Integration Updates
- Biotime 8.5 Integration (Planned): Will replace pyzk with JWT-based API.
- Improved Sync Logic: Smarter syncing between device and Odoo.
- Notification Bug: Fix pending for `notify_info` missing method.
