Odoo ABN Lookup
Look up Australian Business Numbers (ABN) and Company Numbers (ACN) directly from the Australian Business Register.

How It Works
- Configure your ABR Authentication GUID in Settings → General Settings → ABN Lookup
- Open a contact and click "Lookup ABN" in the header
- Review the search results from the Australian Business Register
- Optionally tick "Update Address" to also fill the contact's address
- Click "Select" on the correct result — ABN, ACN, and address are populated automatically
Configuration
Navigate to Settings → General Settings → ABN Lookup and configure:
- ABR Authentication GUID — Your registered GUID for the ABR web services (see Registration section below)
- Automatic ABN Lookup — Enable to automatically search ABR when new contacts are created
- Auto Set Address from ABR — When automatic lookup is enabled, also populate the contact's address from the ABR registered address
How to Register for an ABR GUID
A free Authentication GUID is required to use this module. To obtain one:
- Go to the Australian Business Register website at abr.business.gov.au
- Navigate to Our services → Tools → Web services
- Click "Register" and complete the registration form
- You will receive your GUID via email once your registration is approved
- Enter the GUID in Settings → General Settings → ABN Lookup in Odoo
Registration is free and provided by the Australian Government. No external Python dependencies are required — the module uses only the Python standard library.
