Google Consent and Cookie Settings Manager Odoo Apps
Odoo Google Tag Consent Management app integrates Google Consent Mode into your Odoo website, helping businesses comply with global data privacy regulations while continuing to use Google analytics and advertising tools. As an extension of the Google Tag Manager integration module, it adds new privacy settings within the Website configuration. Users can activate the Consent Manager with options like “None” or “Odoo Cookies Bar,” and enable Google Consent Mode using a simple toggle. Once activated, the app allows full customisation of default consent values across various parameters, including Website, Region, Ad Storage, Ad User Data, Ad Personalization, Analytics Storage, Functionality Storage, Personalization Storage, and Security Storage. This level of control ensures businesses can tailor consent settings based on user location and legal compliance needs.

Google Consent Mode Toggle
Add a boolean field to enable or disable Google Consent Mode for your website, ensuring compliance and control over consent preferences.

Ads Data Redaction
Enable this option to ensure ad data is fully redacted when ad_storage consent is denied.

URL Passthrough Support
Seamlessly pass ad click information like Client ID and Session ID via URL parameters. Enhances tracking even when cookies are restricted.

Location-Based Consent Defaults
Automatically apply region-based default consent settings depending on the visitor's location.

Google Consent Mode Configuration
To set up Google Consent Mode in Odoo, go to
Website > Configuration > Settings, then scroll to the
Privacy section.
Enable the Cookie Bar – Shows the cookie banner on your
website.
Enable Google Consent Mode – Manages consent signals based
on user preferences.
Enable Google Tag Manager – Enter your GTM Container ID to
connect GTM.
Set Consent Manager to 'None' – Disables Odoo’s cookie bar
and uses backend consent handling.
Google Consent Mode Settings
Navigate to Website > Configuration > Google Consent Mode Settings. Here, the user needs to create a new setting by selecting the website, adding the region, and specifying the update wait time.

Google Consent Region
'None' is selected in the Consent Manager. So, logout from the website and check the header section. Using the TagHound browser extension, click on the icon to open the popup. User will see that all access is currently marked as denied.

If the user selects "None" in the Consent Manager but later enables all the consent mode settings, access will be granted for each of the enabled fields.
Now, from the settings, the user can select 'Odoo Cookie Bar' in the Consent Manager field and save the configuration.

Now, the user can see in the TagHound browser extension that all access is currently marked as granted.

If the user enables the URL Passthrough option under the Website Configuration, then in the TagHounder browser extension, the user can see that the url_passthrough value is set to true, as shown in the event data.
