Custom fields for every product and no code required
Create text, number, dropdown, date, checkbox and file-upload fields for your products in minutes, then show them on the product form, the sales order and your website shop — all from one app, one price.
Odoo's product form only has the fields it ships with. Certification codes, compliance markings, material specs, warranty terms or personalization notes have nowhere to live, so catalog and e-commerce teams either wait on a developer for a schema change or track the data outside Odoo in spreadsheets that drift out of sync.
Custom Fields for Products lets a catalog admin define new fields in a guided wizard — label, type and placement — and have them appear automatically on every applicable product, the storefront, and sales orders. Values are stored in a dedicated, typed table, so the fields are designed to survive Odoo version upgrades without extra migration work.
Everything you need to extend your product catalog
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
Nine field types
Create text, multiline text, number, decimal, monetary, checkbox, date, dropdown and file-upload fields to match any data you need to capture.
Guided setup wizard
A short wizard walks you through label, type and placement, or start from a curated template such as Certification, Material Specification or Customer Personalization.
Curated field templates
Reusable starting points for common use cases save repeat configuration — use one as-is or customize it before creating the field.
Backend placement control
Assign each field to the General Information, Specifications or Extra section of the product form so data stays organized instead of dumped in one block.
Website display, included
Mark any field website-visible and it renders automatically on the shop product page — no separate purchase or companion module required.
Category-scoped fields
Apply a field to all products or restrict it to selected product categories, so finished goods, components and services can carry different data sets.
Validation rules
Mark fields required and enforce minimum/maximum ranges on number, decimal and monetary fields to keep catalog data clean.
Role-based & group-restricted access
Restrict who can create field definitions versus who can only enter values, and optionally lock a field's data to specific user groups.
Sales order visibility
Every quotation and sales order shows a summary of the ordered products' custom field values, closing the loop from catalog to sale.
How it works
Define the field
Open the wizard, pick a use-case template or start blank, choose the field type and where it should appear.
Values appear automatically
The field is added to every applicable product, or just the categories you chose, with an empty typed value ready to fill in.
Fill in product data
Enter values from the product form or the Field Data list, using search, filters and import for bulk catalog updates.
Publish everywhere
Toggle website visibility to show the field on the shop page, and see the values summarized automatically on sales orders.
See it in action
From field definition to website display and sales orders — every screen in the workflow.
Every custom field definition in one list — type, placement, website visibility and the number of products carrying a value.
A field definition form for a Material dropdown field, showing its options and validation settings.
The Field Data list shows every value across products, ready for search, filtering, import and export.
A single field value record opened in form view.
Curated use-case templates — Certification, Material Specification, Customer Personalization and Warranty Terms — ready to use as a starting point.
A field template's form, with a one-click Create Field action.
The guided setup wizard walks through label, type, placement and options in a single dialog.
Custom field values, editable directly on the product form's dedicated Custom Fields tab.
Quotations and sales orders automatically summarize the custom field data of every ordered product.
Website-visible fields render on the shop product page as a Product Details table — no extra module needed.
Frequently asked
Does this require a separate Core module or hidden add-on?
No. Backend field creation, admin management and website display are included in this single app at one price — there is no required companion purchase.
Which field types are supported?
Text, multiline text, number, decimal, monetary, checkbox, date, dropdown (selection) and file upload.
Can I bulk-manage field data?
Yes. The Field Data list is a standard Odoo list, so you can search, filter, and import or export values for bulk catalog updates.
Will my custom fields survive an Odoo version upgrade?
Yes. Field definitions and values are stored in dedicated tables rather than as dynamically created ORM fields, so they are designed to be migration-safe across Odoo versions.
