Drag it in. Know it worked.
Multi-file drag-and-drop uploads with explicit per-file feedback, plus drag-reorderable galleries — the two most common drag-and-drop needs in one reliable, Odoo 18-ready module.
Attaching files in Odoo means one file, one dialog, one click at a time — and reordering related records means manual sequence edits or repeated up/down clicks. Anyone filing invoices, HR documents, or product photos in batches feels this friction daily.
A dedicated Drop Files page accepts one file or a whole batch at once, uploads on drop, and reports the exact outcome per file. Related attachments group into galleries you reorder with a drag — no separate app, no guesswork.
Everything a modern drag-and-drop workflow needs
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
One drop, many files
Drag a single file or an entire batch onto the Drop Files page at once, or click to pick them the traditional way.
Zero-click auto-upload
Files start uploading the instant they land in the dropzone — no separate confirm step standing between you and a finished attachment.
Explicit per-file feedback
Every file is checked against your extension, size, and batch-count rules and reports success, rejected-type, rejected-size, or failed — so you are never left wondering if a drop worked.
Drag-reorderable galleries
Group related attachments into a gallery and drag items into any order with a simple handle, right from the gallery form.
Kanban card reordering
Gallery items also support drag-and-drop reordering directly on a kanban board, for a purely visual way to resequence a set.
Full upload log
Every drop, accepted or rejected, is recorded with its target, size, extension, and outcome — browsable in list, kanban, pivot, and graph views.
Configurable upload rules
A single settings screen governs which file extensions are allowed and the maximum size and count per batch, so policy stays consistent company-wide.
Photos and documents alike
The same dropzone and validation engine handles product photos, scanned receipts, and general documents without any per-file-type setup.
Pick the destination as you drop
Choose which gallery a batch belongs to right on the Drop Files page, so one screen covers every attachment task.
How it works
Open Drop Files
Head to the Drop Files page from the app menu — no configuration needed to get started.
Drag files in
Drop one file or a whole batch onto the page, or click to browse and select them.
Check the outcome
Each file reports success, rejection, or failure instantly, and every drop is written to the Upload Log for later review.
Reorder your gallery
Open the gallery and drag items into the order you want, using the handle or the kanban board.
See it in action
Every screen below is from a live install of the module.
The Drop Files page: drag one or many files onto the dropzone, or click to pick them, and choose the destination gallery in the same screen.
Galleries overview — every reorderable document or image set at a glance.
Inside a gallery, drag items into any order using the handle column.
The Upload Log lists every drop with a clear success, rejected, or failed outcome for each file.
The same log in kanban form, coloured by outcome for a quick visual scan.
Drill into any drop to see its message, target record, file size, and extension.
One settings screen controls allowed extensions and the maximum size and file count per batch.
Frequently asked
Does this replace Odoo's standard file upload button?
No — it adds a faster drag-and-drop path alongside it. You can still use the normal attachment button anywhere it already exists.
What happens if I drop a file that is too large or the wrong type?
The file is rejected with a clear reason (wrong type or over the size limit), and the rejection is recorded in the Upload Log — nothing is silently dropped or lost.
Can I control which file types and sizes are allowed?
Yes — a single settings screen lets you set the allowed extensions and the maximum file size and batch count, applied to every drop.
Does gallery reordering work on every list and kanban view in Odoo?
Reordering ships for the module's own galleries (a drag handle in the form and a draggable kanban board). It is not a global reordering tool for arbitrary Odoo list or kanban views.
