Machine Repair Management for the modern shop floor
Track every repair request, diagnosis, technician, and part from intake to invoice, with equipment history, preventive plans, and a live status page your customers can check themselves.
Repair requests get tracked across email threads, paper job cards, and spreadsheets. Parts consumption never ties back to the job that caused it, technician workload is invisible, and there is no single repair history to tell you whether a machine is worth fixing again or replacing.
One workspace where a repair request becomes a tracked job: diagnosis, technician assignment, parts consumption, and billing all live on the same record, backed by a full repair history on every piece of equipment.
Everything a repair job needs
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
Equipment Register & Repair History
Register every machine with location, criticality, owner, and warranty expiry. Every repair order it has ever had rolls up on the equipment record.
Named Repair Workflow
Every job moves through clear stages: Request, Diagnosis, Repair, Waiting on Parts, Completed, and Billed, so anyone can see where a job stands without asking around.
Technician Assignment & Time Logging
Assign a technician to every job and log hours at their hourly rate, so true labor cost and technician workload are always visible.
Parts Consumption & Cost Rollup
Add the parts used on a job and stock is decremented automatically. Parts and labor roll up into one total cost per repair order.
One-Click Purchase Requests
A part line short on stock is flagged automatically. One click groups every short part by vendor into a draft purchase order, so a job never stalls silently.
Preventive Maintenance Plans
Schedule recurring maintenance per machine in days, weeks, or months. A daily automation generates the next repair order for you, right on time.
Priority, SLA & Root-Cause Tags
Every job gets an SLA deadline from its priority, with an overdue flag before it becomes a complaint, plus tags to spot machines failing for the same reason twice.
Warranty-Aware Billing
Jobs on equipment still under warranty are flagged automatically so they never slip onto a customer invoice. Completed jobs bill in one click otherwise.
Customer Self-Service Portal
Requesters submit new repair requests and follow live status through the Odoo portal, without calling or emailing the maintenance team.
How it works
Register the Machine
Add equipment with location, criticality, and warranty so every repair has context.
Request & Diagnose
Log the problem, move it into diagnosis, and record what the technician found.
Repair, Log Parts & Time
Assign a technician, consume parts, log hours, and request more stock in one click if something is short.
Bill or Close
Bill the customer straight from the job, or close it as a warranty repair with nothing to invoice.

Frequently asked
Does this replace Odoo's native Maintenance or Repair apps?
No. Machine Repair Management is a standalone workflow built specifically for machine and equipment repair jobs, so it runs independently without a version dependency on either app.
How does the purchase request feature work?
When a part line needs more than what is on hand, it is flagged automatically. One click groups every short part by vendor and creates a draft purchase order per vendor.
What happens with warranty repairs?
If the equipment's warranty covers the request date, the job is flagged Under Warranty. Completed warranty jobs close without generating a customer invoice, so they can never slip onto a bill by mistake.
Can customers see repair status without calling in?
Yes. Each requester gets access to a self-service portal to submit new repair requests and follow the status of open jobs at any time, without needing to reach out.
