Save any POS cart as a trackable quotation
Hold a customer’s cart without losing the sale. POS Quotations turns any Point of Sale cart into a searchable, status-tracked quotation — ready to reload, follow up, or convert into a confirmed sales order the moment the customer is ready.
When a customer needs more time to decide, cashiers either abandon the sale or use a hold feature that leaves no customer-facing document and no follow-up trail. Every held cart has to be re-typed from scratch later, and nobody in the back office can see which paused carts are still live, expiring soon, or already lost.
POS Quotations saves any active cart as a persistent sale order quotation with one click. Every quotation carries a status badge, an expiry countdown, and a follow-up owner, so staff can search, prioritize, and convert them into confirmed sales orders without re-entering a single line.
Everything a paused sale needs to become a closed one
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
Save as Quotation, live in the POS
A "Save as Quotation" control button sits right in the product screen, with a live item-count badge so cashiers always know exactly how much they are about to save.
No hidden line-item ceiling
Bulk and wholesale carts stay safe. Quotations are backed by a standard sale order with no line-count cap, so a 50-item cart saves as reliably as a 2-item one.
Searchable backend quotation list
A dedicated "POS Quotations" list replaces the scrolling popup other apps use, with status badges and row decorations for Draft, Sent, Expired, and Converted quotations at a glance.
Full POS context on every quotation
The sale order form gains a dedicated "POS Quotation" page showing terminal, session, source, follow-up owner, item count, days to expiry, and an internal note — all in one place.
Retroactive quotation creation
A "Create Quotation" button on any completed POS order turns a past sale into a formal quotation, for the customer who wants documentation after the fact.
Filters and grouping built for follow-up
Filter by My Follow-ups, Draft, Sent, Converted, Expired, or Expiring Soon, and group by customer, terminal, session, follow-up owner, or status — find the right quote in seconds during a live checkout.
Follow-up ownership and notes
Assign any quotation to a staff member for follow-up and leave an internal note for pricing flexibility or customer context — the handoff between cashier and sales team stays visible on the record.
One-click conversion to a sales order
Confirm a quotation into a fully-fledged sales order with customer, lines, pricing, and taxes carried over automatically — no manual re-entry, no lost detail.
Print or email the quotation
Every quotation is a real sale order, so Odoo's native "Quotation / Order" report and Send by Email action work out of the box — no separate document to manage.
How it works
Build the cart
Add products to the POS cart as usual, then click "Save as Quotation" from the control-button menu — the live item count confirms exactly what is being saved.
Track it in the backend
The quotation lands in the searchable "POS Quotations" list with a status badge, terminal, session, and days-to-expiry visible immediately.
Follow up before it expires
Assign a follow-up owner, add an internal note, and filter "My Follow-ups" or "Expiring Soon" so no quote goes stale unnoticed.
Reload or convert
Reopen the saved cart at any terminal, or confirm it straight into a sales order — whichever the customer decides.
See it in action
From the POS product screen to the backend quotation list.

The dedicated "POS Quotations" backend list — status badges, row decorations for expired/converted quotes, and an Items column that shows large carts are handled without any hidden ceiling.

Frequently asked
Is there a limit on how many products a quotation can hold?
No. Quotations are backed by a standard sale order with no line-count cap, so bulk and wholesale carts with dozens of items save just as reliably as a two-item cart.
Can I reload a saved quotation on a different terminal?
Yes. A quotation is a shared sale order record, not something tied to a single terminal or cashier session, so any terminal can load it and pick up where the customer left off.
How do I convert a quotation into a confirmed sale?
Confirm it like any sale order. The customer, lines, pricing, and taxes carry over automatically, and the status badge updates to Converted everywhere the quotation appears.
Can I turn a completed POS sale into a quotation afterward?
Yes. Every completed POS order has a "Create Quotation" button that generates a formal quotation from it, for customers who ask for documentation after an informal in-store sale.
