Snapshot every round of a quotation, capture a structured reason for each change, compare any two versions line by line, and restore a prior version in one click — a full audit trail built natively on Odoo Sales.
Every edit to a quotation overwrites what came before it. When a customer disputes a price, or a manager asks to reconstruct a negotiation, all that is left is scattered chatter and memory — no reliable record of what was offered, when, or why.
Capture an immutable snapshot of the order every time it changes, with a required reason and the author attached. Compare any two versions line by line, or restore a prior version to the live order in a single click.

One-Click Version Snapshot
Capture the full state of a quotation or sales order — every line, quantity, price, discount, and total — as an immutable version straight from the order form.
Stable Version Reference
Each version keeps the order's original reference and adds a clear version marker (S00044 - v3), so the document identity stays recognizable across every round.
Required Change Reason
Every version requires a structured reason before it can be created, so the negotiation narrative is captured next to the snapshot instead of buried in chatter.
Line-Level Compare
Pick any two versions and see exactly what changed — lines added, removed, or with a different quantity or unit price — in a single comparison view.
One-Click Restore
Bring back any prior version as the live order in a single action — when a customer says "go back to what you sent me before," it is one click, not a manual rebuild.
User Attribution
Every version records who created it and when, so "who changed this?" has a direct answer instead of a reconstruction from memory.
Approval Status per Version
Move a version through Draft, Sent, and Accepted, so the team can see at a glance which version the customer actually approved.
Works After Confirmation
Snapshot a version at any order stage, including confirmed sales orders, so mid-negotiation or mid-fulfilment changes are documented, not made silently.
Searchable Version History
A dedicated Versions smart button and list view let staff find and open any version across any order, with chatter notifications logged on every capture and restore.
How it works
Negotiate
Edit the quotation as usual — add lines, adjust prices, change quantities.
Create Version
Click Create Version, enter the change reason, and the current state is snapshotted.
Compare
Open Compare Versions to see the line-level differences between any two rounds.
Restore if Needed
Restore any prior version back to the live order in one click.

Frequently asked
Does creating a version change the live order?
No. Creating a version only takes a read-only snapshot of the order as it stands. The live order keeps changing normally until you choose to restore an earlier version.
Can I version a confirmed sales order?
Yes. Each version records the order's status at the time it was captured, so you get a documented, traceable snapshot whether the order is a draft quotation or already confirmed.
What exactly does the comparison show?
It matches lines by product between the two chosen versions and flags each as added, removed, quantity changed, price changed, both changed, or unchanged — with the from/to values side by side.
What happens when I restore a version?
The live order's lines are replaced with the version's snapshotted lines and a chatter entry logs the restore, so it is always clear which version is active and when it was brought back.
