Concept Loan Management Odoo App simplifies the tracking and management of
bank loans and deposits. Users can compute dynamic amortization schedules,
calculate flat rate or effective interest (computed on daily elapsed days),
and post journal entries with a single click.
Required Chart of Accounts Setup:
To ensure the automated journal entries post successfully, please create and
configure the following accounts:
- 201002 Payable Account: A specific account with code 201002 is needed.
- Deferred Interest Account: Configured as a Current Liability account.
- Deferred Interest Suspense Account: Configured as a Current Suspense Account.
Loan Amortization
Compute and manage loan schedules under different rates and styles.
Auto Ledger Entries
Direct posting of loan amounts and deferred interest to general ledger.
Required Chart of Accounts Setup
Make sure Account 201002 (Payable Account), Deferred Interest Account (Current Liability), and Deferred Interest Suspense Account (Current Suspense Account) exist before generating journal entries.
Configure Bank Loan Details
Specify Loan Amount, Rate Type (Flat or Effective), First Installment Date, Disbursal Date, and Duration in Months.
Interest Rate & Repayment Calculation details:

Flat Rate: When Flat Rate is selected, the interest
is calculated directly on the initial loan principal for the entire
loan duration:
Total Interest = Loan Principal × (Flat Rate / 100) × (Duration in Months / 12).
This total interest is divided equally across all months, keeping both the monthly principal repayment and interest portion identical for every single installment. -
Indicative Effective Rate (Reducing Balance): When
Effective Rate is selected without a Fixed Amount, the interest is
calculated daily on the outstanding principal balance:
Monthly Interest = Outstanding Balance × (Effective Rate / 100) × (Days in Month / 365).
The monthly installment (EMI) is estimated using the standard reducing balance formula. As the outstanding principal reduces month-by-month, the interest portion of your monthly payment decreases while the principal portion increases. -
Fixed Amount Option: By enabling the Fixed
Amount checkbox, you can input a manual, constant monthly
repayment value (Fixed Amount Value). The system will
compute the monthly interest based on the reducing balance, and
apply the rest of the fixed amount directly to pay off the
principal:
Monthly Principal Repayment = Fixed Amount Value - Monthly Interest.
Generate Amortization Schedule
Click Compute Schedule to generate the principal, interest, and monthly installment breakdown along with remaining outstanding principal.
Post Journal Entries
Click Create Entry to automatically generate and validate accounting entries with corresponding deferred interest.

You need to copy and paste the module folder inside the zip file into your custom addons path. If you are installing it in an existing database, enable Developer Mode, then go to Apps > Update Apps List, and install the module.
