Overview

Cloud Storage Integration Odoo Enterprise is the dedicated enterprise bridge module designed to seamlessly connect the core Cloud Storage Integration framework with Odoo's native Enterprise Documents app. It extends cloud storage sync capability directly to document workspaces, structure trees, and rules, allowing you to synchronize heavy documents, media, and invoices to your cloud storage providers (Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint, Dropbox, Nextcloud, or AWS S3).

By integrating directly with Odoo Documents workspaces, this module auto-provisions synchronized workspaces in the cloud and exposes them in the Cloud Storage File Explorer. It also inherits the native Documents Kanban view with a Cloud Sync Indicator so users can immediately verify at a glance if a document has been safely uploaded to the cloud.

Documents Workspace Sync

Configure Documents Workspace Rules

Cloud Storage Sync > Configurations > Folder Mapping Rules

Configure workspace-specific sync rules to mirror your Odoo Documents directory tree directly onto your preferred cloud storage:

Odoo Model & Rule Type Selection: Define a new mapping rule targeting the native Odoo Document model. You can choose between two rule modes:
  • Standard Record Rule: Synchronizes attachments belonging to individual database records into dynamic, record-specific folders (e.g., creating a separate folder for each document record).
  • Workspace-Related Rule: Specifically mirrors Odoo's native Enterprise Documents workspaces (folders/sub-folders structures like Sales, HR, Finance) directly onto the remote cloud storage platform.
Granular Workspace Settings: Under the Workspace Settings section, define exactly which Document folders/directories (e.g., Sales, Products, Loans, Registrations, Contracts) you want to sync to the cloud client.
On-Demand Sync Trigger: Use the dedicated Sync Workspaces Now button in the form header to immediately trigger structural sync operations and instantly auto-create matching directories in your cloud storage.

After synchronization finishes, navigate to Odoo's native Documents app. You will see a dynamic, high-visibility Cloud Icon Indicator rendered directly on the document cards and workspace folders. This visual badge verifies at a glance that the document has been successfully offloaded to your connected remote cloud storage platform.

Automated Workspace Directory Synchronization

Settings > Technical > Automation > Scheduled Actions

To automate directory structures sync, Odoo registers a background cron job named Cloud Storage: Sync Documents Workspace Folders. Running periodically (every hour by default), this background scheduler scans for newly created document workspaces or subfolders and automatically creates their matching folders in the cloud without requiring manual user interaction.

Which cloud storage providers are supported out-of-the-box?
The module supports Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, SharePoint, Dropbox, Nextcloud, and AWS S3. Each provider can be configured with secure OAuth2 or API credentials under the Cloud Clients menu.
Does the module delete local file binaries from my Odoo database?
Yes. Once files are uploaded to Odoo, they are placed in a background sync queue. After the background cron job successfully transfers the binary to your cloud provider, the local binary is deleted from the Odoo database, and the attachment type is changed to a link ('url') to save Odoo server disk space.
How does the asynchronous background queue work?
To prevent Odoo from freezing or timing out during massive file uploads, the module uses a First-In-First-Out (FIFO) sync queue. Users can instantly save documents locally, while a background Scheduled Action (Cron) handles the batch upload asynchronously in the background.
Can I manually trigger a file sync immediately?
Yes. If you do not want to wait for the scheduled cron job, users can click the "Sync Now" button on any attachment or forced sync queue card to push the file to the cloud immediately.
What happens if a cloud client connection is paused?
If you pause the sync connection, the module suspends all queue processing and delta polling for that client. Files remain saved locally in Odoo, and a clear pause banner is displayed in the Odoo client form view. Once resumed, the sync process picks up right where it left off.
Can I revert cloud attachments back to local Odoo binaries?
Absolutely. The module includes a Reversal Sync Wizard that automates the downloading of remote cloud attachments and restores them back into standard Odoo local binaries with transaction savepoints.
Is this app compatible with Odoo Community as well as Enterprise?
No, this enterprise bridge module specifically requires Odoo Enterprise as it integrates directly with the native Enterprise Documents app. However, the core Cloud Storage Integration module on which this depends is compatible with both Odoo Community and Enterprise.
Is this app compatible with Odoo Online?
No, like most 3rd-party modules, this app will not work for Odoo Online (SaaS) as it requires custom module installation which is only permitted on Odoo.sh or On-Premise servers.
