Inventory Coverage Analysis Report
The Inventory Coverage Analysis Report in Odoo is a critical tool for maintaining optimal
inventory levels. It calculates how long your current stock will last based on historical
consumption (Average Daily Sales - ADS) or valid static coverage days.
By identifying Critical (Stockout risk), Risk (Low coverage), Healthy, and
Overstock items, businesses can make data-driven purchasing decisions, optimize working
capital, and prevent lost sales. The module features a comprehensive Dashboard, detailed
Coverage Analysis Data, Historical Snapshots for trend analysis, and specialized
views for Critical, Overstock, and Risk products.

Executive Dashboard
A comprehensive dashboard giving a bird's-eye view of your inventory Health. Track All Products, identifying Critical, Risk, and Overstock items instantly. Monitor Total Stock Value, predict Stockouts in 7 Days, and analyze Coverage Health and Financial Impact. It also features a Warehouse Risk Matrix and quick lists for Top 10 Products to Reorder and Top 10 Overstocked Products.
Status Calculation & Value Metrics:
- Critical: Stock is 0 OR Coverage Days
- Risk: Coverage Days
- Overstock: Stock > Max Qty OR Coverage Days > 90 days. Highlights excess inventory tying up capital.
- Healthy: Inventory levels are balanced, falling between Risk and Overstock parameters.
- Stock Value: Calculated as Closing Stock × Unit Cost (from valuation layer), providing accurate financial valuation.
Key Dashboard Components:
- Coverage Health Chart: A donut chart visualising the percentage of inventory in each status (Critical, Risk, Healthy, Overstock) for quick health assessment.
- Financial Impact Chart: A bar chart breaking down the total monetary value held in each status, helping you prioritize high-value critical or overstocked items.
- Warehouse Risk Matrix: A heatmap-style pivot view showing the count of Critical and Risk items across different warehouses, allowing for targeted intervention.
- Top 10 Products to Reorder: An actionable list of the 10 most critical items needing immediate replenishment, sorted by lowest coverage.
- Top 10 Overstocked Products: A prioritized list of the top 10 items with the highest excess inventory value, ideal for clearance or promotion planning.
Report Wizard Menu
Accss the dedicated reporting wizard from the Reporting menu. This centralized hub allows you to generate new analysis reports, covering Multi-Company and Multi-Warehouse scenarios effortlessly.
Report Configuration
Configuring your report is simple yet powerful. Select specific Warehouses, Locations, or Product Categories to narrow down your analysis. Choose between ADS (Average Daily Sales) for consumption-based planning or Static Coverage Days for target-based stock levels. You can also toggle Internal Transfers to treat inter-warehouse moves as consumption.
On-Screen List View
Interact with your data directly in Odoo's List View. Sort by Coverage Days to find outliers, group by Coverage Status to batch-process reorders, and view color-coded lines indicating status health. This view supports standard Odoo searching and filtering.
Advanced Search & Filter
Utilize pre-built filters to isolate data for specific Vendors, Warehouses, or Product Categories. quickly switch between coverage statuses like "Show only Critical" or "Show only Overstock" to focus your workflow.
Pivot Analysis
Leverage the power of Odoo's Pivot view for multi-dimensional analysis. Drag and drop to analyze Total Stock Value by Category, Average Coverage Days by Warehouse, or compare consumption rates across different product lines.

Identify capital trapped in excess inventory. This view highlights products exceeding maximum stock limits or 90+ days of coverage. Perfect for planning Clearance Sales or adjusting future purchase orders to optimize cash flow.
Health Distribution
Visualise the overall health of your inventory with intuitive graphs. See the proportion of your stock that is Healthy vs. at Risk. This macro-level view is essential for management reporting and KPI tracking.
Financial Impact
Go beyond quantities and see the Money involved. This graph breaks down inventory value by status, showing you exactly how much capital is tied up in "Overstock" (opportunity for cash release) vs. "Critical" (risk of lost revenue).
Warehouse Risk Matrix
A powerful comparison tool for multi-warehouse operations. This view highlights which warehouses are holding the most Critical or Overstock items, helping you balance inventory through internal transfers.
Historical Snapshots
Automatically create Daily, Weekly, or Monthly snapshots via Scheduled Actions to track past data. An auto-delete scheduler ensures meaningful data retention by removing snapshots older than 365 days.
Snapshot Data
View and filter through all recorded historical snapshots to compare past performance.
Stock Value Trend
Graph view showing how stock value and investment has evolved over time. This trend analysis supports specific deep-dives using Pivot View and List View.
