Manufacturing Cost Estimation
Manufacturing Cost Estimation Odoo app helps businesses calculate and plan production costs
before starting the manufacturing process. With this app, you can estimate material costs, labor
costs, operation costs, and any extra expenses linked to production. It works for both new
products and existing products with a Bill of Materials (BoM). The app provides a clean and
structured form where every cost detail can be added, making the total manufacturing cost
accurate and easy to understand.
For new products, you can prepare an estimation with details like planned start date, expiry
date, required quantity, operation cost, labor cost, and miscellaneous cost. Once the estimation
is confirmed and approved, the system can send an automatic email to the customer with all
estimation details. It also allows you to directly create a Bill of Materials (BoM),
Manufacturing Orders (MO), and Sales Quotations from the estimation, avoiding extra work. If a
BoM already exists for the product, the app uses it instead of creating a duplicate.
Every estimation includes a validity period. Once it expires, the system marks it as “Expired”
automatically, so no expired estimation is used in future production. This ensures accuracy,
traceability, and control over your manufacturing planning. The app helps you move smoothly from
estimation → approval → BoM/MO/Quotation → production, without missing any detail.

1). New Product Manufacturing Estimation.
Form view to create a manufacturing estimation for a new product, including quantity, planned start date, expiry date.
Product Operation cost.
Provides details of the product manufacturing estimation, including operation, work center, hours, hourly rate, and total cost.
Product Labour cost.
Provides details of the product manufacturing estimation, including labor operation, hours, hourly rate, and total labor cost.
Product miscellaneous cost.
Provides details of the product manufacturing estimation, including miscellaneous cost descriptions and total cost, Confirms the product manufacturing estimation for further processing and approval."
Approve and Send Confirmation Email
Approves the estimation and sends a confirmation email to the customer.
Customer Mail.
The email contains the estimation number and details of the declared product quantities.
Create BoM
Click to generate a Bill of Materials based on the approved estimation.
BoM
Displays the related Bill of Materials created from this estimation and shows the current BoM stage.
BoM
Shows the product, required quantities, and components needed for manufacturing in the BoM.
BoM
Displays the operations defined in the BoM required for the manufacturing process.
Create Manufacturing Order
Click to create a Manufacturing Order based on the approved Bill of Materials.
Manufacturing Order
Displays the related Manufacturing Order generated from this estimation.
Manufacturing Order
Shows detailed Manufacturing Order information, including required components for production.
Manufacturing Order
Displays the operations to be performed during the manufacturing process in the Work Orders.

Opens the related sales order and displays product details in the order lines.
Estimation Expiry Status
Automatically sets the estimation to 'Expired' status after the expiry date and displays it on the record view.
2). Existing Product with BoM Workflow
If the selected product is already created and has an existing BoM, the system uses it directly without creating a new one.
Operation Cost Details.
Displays operation details along with duration, work center, hourly rate, and total operation cost in the record.
Labour Cost Details.
Shows labour tasks with assigned hours, hourly rates, and total labour cost in the record.
Miscellaneous Cost Details.
Displays additional costs with descriptions, and total amounts in the record.
Existing BoM Details
Opens the existing Bill of Materials on screen, displaying all required components for manufacturing.
Displays the operations defined in the existing BoM required for the manufacturing process.
Confirm Estimation
Click the Confirm button to validate the estimation and proceed to the approval stage.
Approve Estimation
Click the Approve button to finalize the estimation and automatically send a confirmation email to the customer.
Customer Email
Automatically sends an email to the customer with the estimation number and product details upon approval.
Create MO & Generate Quotation
After approval, click 'Create MO' to generate the Manufacturing Order or 'Generate Quotation' to create the sales quotation based on the estimation.
Manufacturing Order Creation
Click 'Create MO' to move the estimation to the MRP stage and view the related Manufacturing Order through the smart button.
Manufacturing Order
The Manufacturing Order displays product details, quantity, linked BoM, and required components for production.
Manufacturing Order
The Manufacturing Order includes work orders that show assigned operations, work centers, and durations.
Manufacturing Order
Displays labour-related tasks in the Manufacturing Order with assigned hours, rates, and total labour cost.
Manufacturing Order
Shows miscellaneous costs in the Manufacturing Order, including descriptions, and total amounts.
Generate Quotation
Click the 'Generate Quotation' button to create a sales quotation based on the approved estimation.
Sales Quotation
The smart button displays the related sales quotation and opens it to show product details and pricing.
Sales Quotation
The Sales Quotation displays the listed products along with their quantities, unit prices, and total amounts.
Estimation Expiry
Automatically moves the estimation to the 'Expired' stage once the expiry date is reached.
