POS Product Bundle & Bill of Material (BoM) in Odoo
The POS Product Bundle & Bill of Material (BoM) module for Odoo simplifies complex order fulfillment by allowing you to define ingredient lists for products sold in your Point of Sale. It tracks real-time component stock, calculates dish costs, and prevents overselling by blocking orders when essential ingredients are out of stock. This is an essential tool for bakeries, restaurants, and retail shops selling assembled or produced goods.
Features
- Define multi-level Bill of Materials (BoM) for any POS product with specific component quantities.
- Real-time stock tracking for individual ingredients and components directly within the POS interface.
- Ingredient info popup displays "Max sellable" unit counts based on currently available component stock.
- Automatically deduct component stock upon order confirmation instead of just the finished product.
- Configurable "Block Out-of-Stock BoM" option prevents adding items to the cart if ingredients are empty.
Define Bill of Materials (BoM)
Navigate to Point of Sale > Products > POS Bill of Material. Create a new BoM, select your finished product, and add all required components with their specific quantities.
Configure POS Stock Blocking
Go to Point of Sale > Configuration > Settings. Enable Show BoM Ingredients and Block Out-of-Stock BoM Products to ensure you never oversell combined products.
Check Live Ingredient Availability
During a POS session, simply click the BoM icon on any product card. The popup displays ingredients, their current stock, and how many units can be produced total.
Strict Stock Control & Order Blocking
Ensure inventory integrity with real-time stock monitoring. If ingredients are insufficient, the system automatically blocks the product with a Limit Reached status, preventing out-of-stock orders before they happen.
