POS Dynamic Selection Combo - Create Custom Product Combos with Category-Based Selections is an advanced Odoo POS extension designed to make product bundling smarter, faster, and more flexible. It enables businesses to create dynamic combo packs that adapt to customer preferences in real time, allowing users to select their preferred products from predefined categories directly within the Point of Sale interface. With this module, you can easily configure product categories, set minimum and maximum selection limits, and define how many items a customer can choose from each group.
Features
Create Dynamic Combo Packs

Category-Based Product Selection

Set Minimum and Maximum Limits
Define the minimum and maximum number of items that can be selected from each category to maintain control over combo composition. This ensures proper pricing, consistent offers, and helps prevent errors during order creation.
Easy Configuration and Setup
The module is designed for simplicity and ease of use. With a straightforward configuration process, administrators can create and adjust combo rules, categories, and limits without any technical complexity.

Navigation : Point of Sale → Configuration → Category
2.) Configure POS Dynamic Combo Selection
In this view, a new Fruit Combo product is configured as a Selection Combo. The POS Combo Selection tab allows you to define combo rules - such as category-based lines, included products, and minimum/maximum selectable items. You can also decide whether to apply individual item prices or a total combo price, providing full flexibility for combo creation.
Navigation : Point of Sale → Product Variants → Product
3.) Assign Combo to POS Category
This screen displays how to assign the combo product to its corresponding POS Category. Under the Point of Sale tab, the Combo category is linked to the Fruit Combo product. This ensures that when users access the POS interface, the combo appears under the correct category, ready for customer selection and easy management during checkout.
4.) POS Interface - Displaying Combo Product
This screen shows the POS interface where the newly created combo category appears alongside other product categories. The Fruit Combo product is displayed under the Combo category with a clear Selection Combo tag, indicating that it is a customizable combo product.
5.) Dynamic Combo Product Selection Popup
Once the Fruit Combo product is selected, a dynamic popup appears, allowing the cashier or customer to choose products from different predefined categories like Breads and Pastries. Each category displays available products with their prices, and users can easily add them to the combo cart.
6.) Selected Combo Items Added to Cart
After selecting the desired combo items, the POS cart displays a detailed breakdown of the combo under Fruit Combo, showing the items chosen from each category along with quantities and prices. This transparent view helps ensure accuracy and provides an at-a-glance summary before proceeding to payment, improving both user experience and order management.
7.) Payment and Combo Receipt Details
This screen shows the payment confirmation and corresponding printed receipt view for the completed combo order. The receipt clearly lists the combo name and selected items under each category, maintaining full visibility of the customer selections. This ensures that both customers and businesses have an accurate record of the chosen items within the combo package.
8.) POS Order Details with Combo Breakdown
In the back-end order view, users can review complete combo details under the Combo Details tab. Each combo item - such as Bagel and Apple Pie - is displayed with quantity and price. This structured representation helps businesses track and analyze combo sales, making it easier to manage inventory, pricing, and customer preferences effectively.
9.) Enable Multiple Selections per Combo Category
This configuration screen allows enabling multiple product selections within a combo category. By checking the Multiple Selection box, users can allow customers to choose more than one product from that specific category in the POS interface.
10.) Selecting Multiple Items in POS Combo Popup
users can select multiple products from a single category when Multiple Selection is enabled. The interface displays the selected products, quantities, and prices in a side cart, helping the cashier keep track of combo contents in real time.
11.) Define Minimum Item Selection Rules
This setup screen allows defining the minimum number of products a customer must select from each combo category. The Min Item column ensures that essential components are always included in the combo, maintaining consistency and product value.
12.) Minimum Item Validation in POS
If the customer tries to confirm a combo without meeting the minimum selection requirement, the POS displays a validation alert. The alert guides the user to add the required number of items before proceeding.
13.) Set Maximum Allowed Items per Category
The Max Item column defines the upper limit for how many products can be selected within a single combo category. This setting helps control portion sizes, maintain inventory balance, and prevent excessive selections that might affect profitability or combo pricing structure.
14.) Restriction Alert for Exceeding Maximum Selection
When customers attempt to add more products than allowed in a category, the POS immediately displays a warning pop-up. This alert helps maintain the combo structure and ensures users follow the set selection rules, keeping the process seamless and error-free during checkout.
