Logistics Bahrain Localisation Pack
Seeded Bahrain master data: ports, airport, customs offices, and free zones, ready the moment you install the logistics engine.
Why this module
Logistics Bahrain Localisation Pack
The Bahrain masters, already filled in
The moment you install on top of the logistics engine, the Bahrain ports, airport, customs offices and free zones are seeded as records. No data entry, no spreadsheet import to start operating with correct local references.
UN/LOCODE, IATA, ICAO, the way they should be
Khalifa Bin Salman Port carries BHKBS, Bahrain International carries BAH and OBBI. Codes are unique-constrained, indexed and searchable, so downstream records reference one authoritative master rather than free text.
Master data only, honestly
This pack ships four master models with seeded records, list and form views, a Bahrain menu and access rules. It does not file declarations, compute VAT or print documents. It gives the operational engine correct Bahrain reference data to work against.
Day in the life
Setting up a Bahrain branch in minutes
An operator opens Master Data, Bahrain. The ports list already shows Khalifa Bin Salman, Mina Salman and Sitra with their UN/LOCODEs and terminal flags. Customs Offices already lists Customs Affairs as the authority with the port and airport customs houses parented under it, and the National Bureau for Revenue alongside as the tax authority. Free Zones already holds the Bahrain Logistics Zone and its bonded siblings. Nothing to type. They pick the right reference on every booking from day one, and add a note or a helpline number where local knowledge needs to live.
Edge cases
The cases most modules quietly ignore.
In the shipped code today, each one a place where a cheaper module silently does the wrong thing.
UN/LOCODE, IATA and customs and free-zone codes each carry a database UNIQUE constraint, so a second record with the same BHKBS or BAH is rejected at write time rather than quietly creating a duplicate master.
Customs offices model a parent-authority link with a restrict ondelete. The Khalifa Bin Salman and airport customs houses point at Customs Affairs Bahrain, and that parent cannot be deleted while children reference it.
An office-kind selection (customs authority, port customs house, airport customs house, tax authority) drives a stored is_authority flag, so the National Bureau for Revenue and Customs Affairs sort and group apart from the operational customs houses.
Each free zone carries a bonded flag and a regulating-authority name, so the Bahrain Logistics Zone and the airport cargo free zone are distinguishable for customs treatment downstream rather than treated as plain warehouses.
Ports flag container, bulk and petrochemical capability independently. Sitra is marked petrochemical, Mina Salman bulk, so a routing or quotation step can filter to a port that can actually handle the cargo.
Logistics users get read access to every Bahrain master while only the logistics manager group can create, edit or archive, so reference data is visible everywhere but changed in one controlled place.
What is inside
Built to do the job, end to end.
- Sea ports master. eh.log.l10n.bh.port seeded with Khalifa Bin Salman Port (Hidd, BHKBS), Mina Salman (BHMIN) and Sitra Port (BHSIT). Each record carries operator name, container, bulk and petrochemical flags, an indexed unique UN/LOCODE and a code-prefixed display name.
- Airport master. eh.log.l10n.bh.airport seeded with Bahrain International Airport (Muharraq) carrying IATA code BAH, ICAO code OBBI and a cargo-capable flag, with a unique constraint on the IATA code and search by code or name.
- Customs and tax offices. eh.log.l10n.bh.customs.office seeded with Customs Affairs Bahrain and the National Bureau for Revenue as authorities, plus the Khalifa Bin Salman and Bahrain Airport customs houses parented beneath Customs Affairs, each with single-window URL and helpline fields.
- Free zones. eh.log.l10n.bh.free.zone seeded with the Bahrain Logistics Zone (BLZ), Bahrain International Investment Park (BIIP) and Bahrain Airport Cargo Free Zone (BAIF), each with a bonded flag, regulating-authority name and optional website.
- Views, menus and security. List and form views for all four models, a Bahrain menu under the suite Master Data section gated to the logistics manager group, and access rules giving users read and managers full create, write and unlink across the masters.
- Translatable reference fields. Names and notes on every master are translatable, so Arabic labels and local notes sit beside the English reference data, and customs codes drive a bracketed display name for quick recognition in any picker.
Honest about the edges
What this does not do, so nothing surprises you.
- This is reference master data, not an operational engine. It seeds Bahrain ports, airport, customs offices and free zones. It does not by itself create shipments, quotations, customs declarations or invoices. Those live in the logistics engine and operational modules it depends on.
- There is no VAT, currency, holiday-calendar, trade-licence or HS-code configuration in this pack, and no customs single-window adapter, EDI message or document template. Despite the codes seeded, the pack does not file or transmit anything to any authority.
- It requires the eh_log_base engine and is built for Odoo 17 Community. It is not a standalone application and does not install without the suite.
- Seeded records use noupdate so your later edits are preserved across upgrades, which also means corrections shipped in future versions will not overwrite records you have already changed.
- The seeded set covers the principal Bahrain ports, the international airport, the main customs and tax authorities and the major free zones. It is a working starting point you extend, not an exhaustive registry of every facility.
