Improvements in External Services

Currently, the odoo External Service module does not meet some of the requirements that an External Service application entails. This module includes concepts such as Materials, Operations, Sales and Purchase Improvements, Warehouse Management, File and Warehouse Management; making the functionalities of a Technician and the Management team much more complete.

To work with the current module, you need to select the "Analytic Accounting" option in the Accounting menu.

Check the following options in the Project settings.

Check the following options in the Field Service settings.

Assign the "Technical Services" role to technicians.

Configure Field Services stages, defining the "Last stage, Locked, Required" checks.

Access the "Inventory/Configuration/Locations" menu and configure the location to be used as the "Material location".

Check the "it is displacement" option on the product that requires it.

Configure the "product type" and "project template" in the product view.

Finally, configure the checks that identify that the project related to the product is a template.

Confirming a sales order with a service type product with the above settings generates the project for Field Service.

When accessing tasks, you must select the "Work order" option to work on the task in Field service.

To work with the "Materials" session if you want to generate lines automatically, you need to create Purchase Orders associated with the Work Order. You can also create it manually.

If there is a related purchase order, clicking the "Add PO materials" button loads the lines of materials to be processed.


In the "Operations" option, the type of products and services to be processed are filtered.

The "Process Materials" option generates the order lines, delivery notes and analytical lines related to this Work order.


The generated documents (order lines, delivery notes and analytical lines) are associated with the Work order.
If the "is billable" check is checked, it generates documents in sales, otherwise it generates them in inventory.

The same thing happens with the "Operations" option.


If we return a delivery note related to a material line, it generates a tracking line in the Work order.


If we return a delivery note related to a material line, it generates a tracking line in the Work order.


Menus for Materials and Operations are also added.

There are also two reports associated with the Work order: Field Service unprocessed, which is used when sending the report to the client, and the standard Odoo report, which is used to review the history.


When sending the report to the client, the PDF associated with this email contains the processed lines. And when sent, the status changes to Done.

Options and other validations are also added that provide greater functionality to the module.
