Do you ever feel the form is too narrow because the chat panel takes up half the screen? This module adds a simple Full Screen button to every form in Odoo 17. Click it once to hide the chat panel and expand your form to full width. Click it again to bring the chat back. Odoo remembers your choice - you never have to set it again.
What Does This Module Do?
In Odoo 17, every form - a sale order, a contact, a task - has a chat panel on the right side. It's useful sometimes, but it takes up a lot of space. This module lets you hide it instantly and use all that space for the form itself.

One-click toggle on every form
A Full Screen button appears at the top of every form view. Click it to hide the chat panel and expand the form. Click Exit Full Screen to bring the chat back. It's always visible so you know exactly what state you're in.
Your preference is remembered
Once you turn on full screen, it stays on across every form, every record, and every page reload. You only need to set it once. If you want the chat back, just click the button and Odoo remembers that too.
No gaps or broken layouts
When the chat panel is hidden, the form fills the space cleanly with no blank areas or gaps on the right side. It looks like the chat panel was never there.
Chat is never deleted - just hidden
Hiding the chat panel does not delete any messages or history. Everything is still there - just out of sight. Click Exit Full Screen at any time and the full chat panel comes back immediately.

No setup, no configuration, no learning curve. Here is what happens from the moment you install the module.
Install and open any form
After installing the module, open any record in Odoo - a sale order, contact, task, or invoice. You will see the new button appear at the top of the form.
Click Full Screen
Click the Full Screen button. The chat panel on the right disappears instantly and the form expands to fill the entire width of the page.
Navigate freely
Open another record, go to a different menu, or reload the page. Full screen stays on automatically. You never have to click it again unless you want to turn it off.
Get the chat back anytime
Need to read a message or log a note? Just click Exit Full Screen and the chat panel comes back immediately - with all messages and history intact.
How to Set Up
There is nothing to configure. Install the module and it works immediately for everyone on your Odoo instance.
Install the module
Go to Apps, search for Full Screen Form View, and click Install - just like any other Odoo module.
Open any record
Open any form in Odoo - a sale order, a contact, a task, an invoice. You will see the Full Screen button in the top action bar.
Click and you're done
Click Full Screen to hide the chat and expand the form. Odoo remembers your choice automatically. No further setup needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will I lose my chat messages when I hide the panel?
No. Hiding the chat panel does not delete anything. All messages, notes, and activity history are still there. Click Exit Full Screen at any time to see the chat panel again exactly as you left it.
Do I have to click Full Screen every time I open a form?
No. Your preference is saved in the browser automatically. Once you turn on full screen, every form you open - on any record, in any menu - will use full screen until you decide to turn it off.
Does it work on forms that do not have a chat panel?
Yes, but nothing visually changes on those forms since there is no chat panel to hide. The button is still there and your preference is still saved - it just has no visible effect on forms without a chat.
Does it work on mobile or small screens?
Yes. On small screens the button label is hidden to save space and only the icon is shown, but the toggle works exactly the same on all screen sizes.
Is it compatible with Odoo Community and Enterprise?
Yes. The module works with Odoo 17 on both Community and Enterprise editions without any extra configuration.
