What The Connector Does

Import GitLab Work

Create or update Helpdesk tickets from GitLab issues with the original title, description, labels, stage, status, comments, images, and GitLab URL.

Push Odoo Tickets

Create or update GitLab issues from Odoo tickets, including ticket descriptions, tags, chatter comments, and images uploaded from Odoo to GitLab.

Control The Direction

Choose GitLab-to-Odoo, Odoo-to-GitLab, or bidirectional sync for each connector, and switch between automatic and manual-only operation.

Protect Test Databases

Neutralization archives GitLab connectors and switches them to manual mode, preventing copied databases from synchronizing with live projects.

Synchronization Details

  • GitLab labels are kept as Odoo Helpdesk tags.
  • The first suitable GitLab label can become the Helpdesk stage, while still remaining a tag.
  • Archived stages are skipped when choosing the stage label.
  • Closed GitLab issues archive their matching Odoo tickets.
  • GitLab comment images are stored as Odoo attachments and shown in the chatter.
  • Odoo images in descriptions and chatter comments are uploaded to GitLab when exported.
  • Technical sync metadata is not injected into the shared description.

Connector Configuration

Each connector links one GitLab project to one Odoo Helpdesk team. Configure the GitLab URL, token, project path, synchronization direction, automatic/manual mode, labels, notes, closed issue handling, and scheduled pull interval.

Ticket Traceability

Tickets keep the GitLab project ID, issue ID, issue IID, state, update date, and direct GitLab URL, so support users can move between Odoo and GitLab without losing context.
