💰 Register Payment From Sale Order
Pay advance directly from the Sale Order before creating an invoice. Track residual amounts in real time, auto-reconcile payments with invoices, and keep your sales and accounting perfectly in sync.
1. Sale Order with Residual Amount and Pay Advance Button
The Sale Order displays the current Residual Amount due and a dedicated Pay Advance button, allowing advance payments to be collected before an invoice is created.
2. Advance Payment Wizard
Clicking Pay Advance opens a wizard pre-filled with the Order Due Amount. Select the journal, set the payment date, enter the advance amount, and confirm to post the payment instantly.
3. Updated Residual Amount and Payment Smart Button
After the payment is registered, the Residual Amount on the Sale Order is updated automatically. A smart button appears showing the total advance payments linked to this order.
4. Advance Payments List View
Clicking the smart button opens a list of all advance payments registered for this Sale Order, giving your team full visibility of every payment made before invoicing.
5. Create Invoice Using the Standard Odoo Button
Once advance payments are registered, use the standard Odoo Create Invoice button on the Sale Order to generate the invoice as usual. The module then takes over to link and display the advance payments on that invoice automatically.
6. Invoice Showing Advance Payments
The generated invoice displays the advance payments already registered against this order, giving a transparent breakdown of what has been collected and what remains outstanding.
7. Auto-Reconcile Configuration in Sales Settings
Under Sales > Configuration > Settings, a toggle lets you enable automatic reconciliation of advance payments when an invoice is confirmed, eliminating manual reconciliation steps entirely.
8. Sale Order with Smart Button, Residual Amount and Create Invoice
The Sale Order view shows all key information together — the Payments smart button with the linked payment count, the updated Residual Amount, and the Create Invoice button ready to use.
9. Automatic Reconciliation When Boolean is Enabled
When the Reconcile Payment Automatically setting is enabled, advance payments are reconciled with the invoice automatically on confirmation — no manual steps needed, the residual clears itself.
