for Odoo
Kaizen: Journal Entry Import from Excel by Kaizen Principles helps finance teams move data from spreadsheets into Odoo without chaos. A single button on draft journal entries lets authorized users import lines from Excel in seconds, right where they work. Built-in validations (account code, unique partner, analytic account, date format, and currency rules) prevent bad data before it hits the ledger, with clear row-level error messages. No new menus or workflows the wizard writes directly to the open entry and respects standard Accounting User permissions. Ideal for opening balances, reclassifications, and partner balance migrations, it shortens period close, reduces manual errors, and keeps multi-currency and analytic reporting consistent.

Mandatory Fields: Ensures Account Code and Label are not empty.

Review Imported Lines
Open Import Wizard
Click Import Journal Items on a draft entry to launch the Excel import wizard and load multiple lines in one go.
Upload Excel File
Click Upload your file to attach the .xls/.xlsx template your file name will fill in automatically. Make sure the columns match the template before proceeding.
Fill the Excel Template
Enter your lines under the headers Account Code, Partner, Label, Analytic, Amount Currency, Currency, Debit, Credit, Due Date (MM/DD/YYYY), Reference, Date. Keep header order, use MM/DD/YYYY, and leave Currency empty if it matches the company currency.
Confirm & Run Import
After attaching the Excel file, click Import to load all rows into the open draft entry. The wizard validates each line and reports any errors with the exact row number
Review Imported Lines
Check the imported journal items accounts, partners, labels, analytic distribution, currency, and debit/credit then adjust if needed and ensure totals balance before posting
