Vehicle log (Fahrtenbuch) for austria and germany
This is an extension for the odometer to use it as a fiscal vehicle log in austria and germany. There is a simple frontend site which allows users to log very easy from any smartphone (iphone android). It supports private and business trips as well as passengers. The rates for austria are already prefilled but can be changed according to other needs. It also supports motorcycles and bicycles. The application works with enterprise and community.
🔧 Installation
Setup: A) Set a default vehicle for the user in Fleet -> Configuration -> Vehicle Log Configuration -> Vehicle Log Users B) If you want to use a person which is not a internal user just select the partner and mark him as allowed for the vehicle log in the tab "Vehicle Log Settings"
Setup: For the data entry side the app is basically a website form. To get the best user experience we strongly recommend to create a dedicated App Link If you use a internal user you don't need additional steps just go to Fleet -> Configuration -> Vehicle Log -> Vehicle Log user and copy the Url
On Iphone:
Go to the link in the Vehicle Log user. Open it with your phone.
Click the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner of the browser. Hover over "More tools" and select "Create shortcut...". Name the shortcut in the pop-up window. Click "Create".
Additional Options: To automatically select the right car set a car for the user:
I bought a used car and I want to remove the initial odometer entry. Remove the Marker then odoometer is not visible in the vehicle log.
Advanced configuration: To allow drivers which are not users mark them as "allowed to vehicle log" in the contacts view"

It will take me more time then to do it manually. If you set your defaults correctly (car, etc.) It's just 2 entries (odoometer and description). And you have all the datapoints necessary for fiscal recognition.
It's not allowed to have a digital vehicle log. It's not allowed to do it in excel, but if it's done in proper software which is able to track changes to the record and has measures to make sure it from tempering it's no problem for the fiscal authorities to use a digital vehicle log.
Do I need enterprise for this? No our App works for both enterprise and community.
Do I need to log in to Odoo? We recommend to use a bookmark or create an icon in your smartphone directly accessing a odoo website. If you are logged in you can use your settings
Is it possible to use it for non Odoo Users? You can set any Partner in Odoo to be able to
You allow non authenticated users to enter log entries is this save? We use the standard odoo forms which have protection against cross site forgery and standard web attac strategies. Additionally they are protected by tokens created for your database only.
