Installation

To install the module, you need to go to the Apps menu and remove the filter from the search bar and type the module name Pragtech_make_an_offer, and click on the Activate button.

Workflow

When a customer visits a product page on the website, they will see a “Make an Offer” button if bidding is enabled for that product.

Upon clicking this button, a form appears where the customer can enter their offered price, number of quantity, and customer details. Once submitted, this offer is recorded in the system and marked with a status of "draft."

On the backend, the vendor or sales team can access all submitted offers through a dedicated menu (such as Sales → Received bids).

Each offer entry contains details including the product name, customer information, offered amount, submission date, and current status. The vendor then reviews the offer and has two options: either accept or reject it.

If the offer is accepted, the system automatically generates a Sales Order using the offer details (product, price, customer info). The offer status is updated to “Accepted,”

The standard sales process in Odoo continues from there—confirmation, invoicing, and delivery.

If the offer is rejected, the status is changed to “Rejected” and the customer is notified via an automated rejection email.

1. What is the purpose of this module?

This module allows customers to submit a price offer (bid) for a product on the eCommerce website. It enables negotiation between the buyer and the vendor, leading to a more flexible pricing experience.

2. How does the offer process work?
  • The customer clicks on the “Make an Offer” button on the product page.
  • Enters their desired price and submits the offer.
  • The vendor receives the offer in the backend.
  • The vendor can accept or reject the offer.
3. What happens if the vendor accepts the offer?

If the offer is accepted, the system automatically generates a Sales Order based on the offer details and notifies the customer.

4. What happens if the vendor rejects the offer?

If the offer is rejected, the customer receives an email notification informing them of the rejection.

5. Can the vendor send a counter-offer?

This feature is not included by default. However, it can be added through customization to allow vendors to propose a new price to the customer.

6. Is the offer price visible to other customers?

No, each offer is private and only visible to the customer who submitted it and the vendor reviewing it.

7. Can customers make multiple offers on the same product?

Yes, customers can submit multiple offers, but vendors can choose to accept or reject each one individually.
