POS Analytic Account
POS Analytic Account enhances Odoo's Point of Sale accounting by introducing analytic account support at the POS configuration level. Businesses operating multiple stores, retail outlets, franchises, or sales channels often require detailed profitability analysis for each Point of Sale location. While Odoo automatically generates accounting entries for POS transactions, the standard functionality does not provide a straightforward way to allocate these transactions to specific analytic accounts. This module addresses that limitation by allowing administrators to configure an Analytic Account for each Point of Sale. Once configured, every accounting transaction generated through that POS configuration automatically inherits the assigned analytic account. When a POS session is closed, the generated journal entries and journal items include the configured analytic distribution. Likewise, when a POS order is converted into a customer invoice, the invoice lines automatically carry the same analytic account. This ensures that all Point of Sale revenue is accurately allocated for management reporting, budgeting, cost analysis, and profitability measurement. The entire process is fully automated and transparent to POS users. Cashiers continue using the standard POS interface while the module handles analytic account assignment in the background, ensuring consistent financial reporting and eliminating manual accounting work.
Key Features
Analytic Account Configuration
The module allows administrators to assign a dedicated analytic account to each Point of Sale configuration directly from the POS settings. This enables businesses to associate every POS terminal, store, or sales location with its own analytic account for detailed financial analysis.
Automatic Analytic Distribution
Once an analytic account is configured, the system automatically applies the analytic distribution to all accounting entries generated by the Point of Sale. Users do not need to manually assign analytic accounts, ensuring consistency and eliminating repetitive accounting tasks.
Customer Invoice Integration
If a POS order is invoiced, the analytic account is automatically propagated to the customer invoice lines. This ensures that invoice-based revenue is tracked within the same analytic structure as other Point of Sale accounting entries.
Store-Wise Profitability Analysis
By assigning different analytic accounts to different POS configurations, businesses can analyze the financial performance and profitability of individual stores, branches, retail outlets, or business units. This provides valuable insights into operational performance and supports better business decision-making.
Budget and Cost Control
Since POS transactions automatically carry analytic accounts, businesses can integrate Point of Sale revenue into analytic budgets and cost centers. This improves financial planning, budget monitoring, and operational cost analysis across multiple locations.
