Product Brand Assignment

Installation & Setup

1. Install the module: Go to Apps -> Search for "oe_product_brand" -> Click Install
2. Configure permissions: The module works with Odoo standard user groups. Inventory users and Sales users get full CRUD access automatically.
3. No additional configuration required - the module is ready to use after installation.

Basic Usage

1. Create brands: Go to Sales -> Configuration -> Product Brands and click Create. Enter the brand name, upload a logo, add a description, and optionally associate a partner.
2. Assign brands to products: Open any product template. On the Sales or Purchase tab, select a brand from the Brand dropdown field.
3. Filter by brand: On the product list view, use the Brand filter in the search bar to narrow products by brand. Switch to kanban view for a visual brand overview.
4. Analyze by brand: Open Sales Analysis or Invoice Analysis reports and group by Brand to see revenue, quantity, and margin broken down by brand.

Tips & Best Practices

• Upload square logos (200x200px recommended) for the best visual appearance in kanban cards and form views
• Use the partner association field to link brands to manufacturer or distributor partners for consolidated reporting
• Combine with oe_excel_export_suite to export brand-filtered product lists to spreadsheets

Important Notes

Requires Sales, Accounting, and Inventory apps. Tested on Odoo 16.0 Community and Enterprise. The module adds a stored related field on product.product so stock moves and purchase order lines inherit the brand from the product template.
