Install the Module

Open Apps, search for “Global Lock Period” and click Install.

Configure a Lock Period (Administrator Access)

Go to Settings > Global Lock Period and create a lock configuration by defining the date range, affected model, and restricted field.

Configure Lock Period

Easily define date-based editing restrictions for any Odoo model by configuring the following fields:

• Lock Name – A descriptive name to identify the lock configuration.
• Start Date & End Date – Specify the period during which the lock will be active.
• Affected Models – Select the Odoo model to apply the restriction, such as Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, Customer Invoices, Vendor Bills, or any other supported model.
• Locked Field – Choose the date or other field that should be protected from modification (for example, Order Date, Invoice Date, or Accounting Date).
• Allowed Users – Select users who are exempt from the restriction and can continue editing the locked field during the active lock period.

Configure Warning Messages

Choose how users are notified when they select a date that falls inside a locked period.

Global Warning Message

Display a blocking popup warning when users attempt to save a record with a date that belongs to a locked period.
