POS Date Adjustment

Overview

This module allows users to adjust the opening and closing dates of Point of Sale (POS) sessions in Odoo. When the date is corrected, all related accounting entries and inventory transactions are automatically updated to match the session's new closing date.

If the POS uses different currency from the company currency the system automatically fetches the correct currency rate value from the backend based on the set opening date.

It's particularly useful when entering backlog sales data or correcting a session closed on the wrong date. The module keeps your POS, accounting, and stock perfectly synchronized -- no manual corrections required.

Example Use Case

You have not added your pos sales for specific date due to different reasons or you implemented odoo later than the accounting and stock start date and you want to register the sales on a different day

With this module:

  1. Open a new POS session.
  2. Set the correct opening date.
  3. Add all orders and set the closing date.
  4. The module adjusts all accounting and stock entries automatically.

Result: After closing the session the system automatically

  1. Sets Order date,payment date,invoice date (if invoice is allowed for the order) to the ordered time and opening date
  2. Sets Stock Picking Date, Stock Move Date, POS Journal Date, Payment Dates, Stock Valuation date and Cash Difference dates to the session closing date

Configuration Steps

Step 1: Go to POS Settings -> enable "Inventory Valuation: At Session Closing".
Step 2: Enable "Allow Date Adjustment".
Step 3: Set the opening and closing dates during session operations.
