Requirements
To use this module, an OpenAI API key is required. This key allows the module to interact with OpenAI's services to generate descriptions based on the images of your products.
Getting an OpenAI API Key
- Visit OpenAI’s official website and sign up for an account if you do not have one.
- Navigate to the API section and apply for access to the API. Depending on your usage, you may need to provide details about your use case.
- Once approved, you will receive an API key. This key is essential for the module to function and should be entered in the Odoo configuration panel under the settings specified by this module.
Configuring the API Key in Odoo
After obtaining the API key, go to Odoo’s Settings → Parameters → System Parameters and add a new parameter:

Your OpenAI API Key
Ensure you replace Your OpenAI API Key with the actual key provided by OpenAI. This key will be securely stored and used to authenticate requests from your Odoo instance to OpenAI.

The addon also extends Sale tab on the Product Template Form view. You can generate the description for the product by clicking on one of the buttons depending on the description tone which you desire.
Mass-update AI-generated Description with dedicate server action
It is possible to update all products with AI-generated descriptions by using the dedicated server action.
