Pricelist Based on Average Sale Price

Pricing given to customers can vary based on negotiations. To provide a standard, a baseline that reflects the average sale price of a product is established. This average price can then be used as a price list, offering customers pricing that is consistent to what the product typically sells for to the wider customer base and as a reference point when determining what to charge a customer.

Compatibility & Integrations

This module is compatible with both Odoo Community and Enterprise editions. The configuration process is the same for both editions.

Quick Start Guide

Step 1

Set average price intervals and period to consider:

  • Navigate to Sales app, Configuration menu and select 'Settings'
  • In the 'Pricing' section set the following fields
    • Average Price Date Period: Set the period of time that sales should be included in the calculation if they are within
    • Calculate Average Price Frequency: Set the interval how often the average price should be recalcuted.
Step 2

Manually recalculate an Average price:

  • Navigate to a product variant
  • In the 'General Information' tab you can see when a product average price in the 'Last updated Average Price date' field
  • Click on the 'Recalculate Average Price' link next to the average price field to recalculate the price
Step 3

Create a price list based on average sales:

  • In the sales configuration settings, ensure 'Advanced price rules' are enabled
Step 4
  • Navigate to the sales app, and from the products menu, select the 'Pricelists' option
  • Create or edit an existing record
  • Create or edit a price rule
  • Select 'Computation' field option formula and 'Average Price' as the option for 'Based on'.
