FAQs
What's the difference between backordered items and open orders?
Backordered items are specifically products that were attempted to be fulfilled but couldn't be due to stock shortage. Open orders include all sale order lines that haven't been delivered yet, whether backordered or simply pending. Use the "Show all open orders" setting to choose your preferred view.
Can customers access their backorder information?
While customers don't have direct access to the backorder views, you can easily export backorder reports from pickings and share them with customers. This helps customers verify pending products before placing new orders, preventing duplicate orders for items already in fulfillment.
How does the bulk export feature work?
Select one or multiple pickings from the Transfers list, click the Action menu, and choose "Export Backorders." The system automatically compiles all backorder lines related to those pickings and generates a comprehensive report that can be downloaded and shared with customers.
How should this module be configured in Odoo?
Installation activates the module immediately with minimal configuration. The only optional setting is enabling "Show all open orders in backorder report" in Sales Settings. If you encounter any issues, reach out to us at support@rooteam.net.
Is this module customizable?
Yes! We can customize the report format, add additional fields, create custom export templates, integrate with customer portals, or add automated email notifications for backorder updates. Contact us at support@rooteam.net for customization requests.
