Sale Ship Term
Description
This module is configured to use shipping terms such as Prepaid & Add, Collect, and Free.
Configuration
After installing the Sale Ship Term application, the feature will be enabled.
Go to the Sales - - > Settings.
Under Shipping, Activate the Shipping Terms based on the requirement. If COD needs to be used, then add a C.O.D product.
The shipping cost will be added from the DO to SO for all Shipping Terms as the regular flow when the Invoicing Policy on the Shipping Method is Real Cost.
But for the COD the cost on the DO will not propagate to the SO.
Also, we can also add the default Shipping Term in the Customers under Sales & Purchase Tab.
Functionality
Go to Sales where the Shipping Term field is added to the sale order form. It’s a dropdown with all the options enabled in settings: Prepaid & Add, Collect, Free, 3rd party billing, and C.O.D.
Prepaid & Add
When the shipper pays the carrier in advance we use Prepaid & Add as a Shipping Terms.
Collect
When the shipper pays with their carrier account then we can use the “Collect” as Shipping Terms.
If Collect is selected, then the "Carrier account" field is visible. We can add the carrier account that needs to collect the charge.
The Carrier Account value is propagated to the DO.
Free
For free orders, we can use these Shipping Terms.
3rd Party Billing
When the shipper pays with a charge from the 3rd party's carrier account then we can use the “ 3rd Party Billing ” as Shipping Terms.
If Bill 3rd Party is selected, then the "Carrier account" and "3rd party billing" fields will be enabled.
Both "Carrier account" and "3rd party billing address" are required.
it is the responsibility of a third party, typically a service provider.
C.O.D.
We need to add C.O.D. products in the Sales/Settings/Shipping/C.O.D. Product. When C.O.D. is selected on the shipping term then it will add the C.O.D. product to the line.
When you uncheck any shipping term in the settings which is used in some SO then we will get a warning message.
Add Tracking
If you cancel the Tracking sent to the Shipper. Then on the related SO we have the exception about the cancellation.
Go back to the sale order. The Exception message will be displayed in the log note.
