About This Module
By default, Odoo automatically downloads the invoice PDF every time a POS order is validated with the Invoice option â on a busy terminal this fills the cashier's downloads folder with files nobody asked for. This module gives you control: enable or disable the automatic download per POS configuration. The invoice itself is still created and stays available in the backend.
- Per-POS-config toggle â different POS terminals can have different settings
- Invoice is still generated normally â only the browser download is skipped
- No coding required â a single checkbox in the POS settings
- No effect on receipts or any other POS behaviour
- Works with both Community and Enterprise editions
How To Use â Step By Step
Step 1 â Turn the option off in the POS settings
Go to Settings â Point of Sale, pick your POS in the selector at the top, and scroll to the Bills & Receipts section. Untick Auto download invoice PDF and save.
Step 2 â Sell with the Invoice option as usual
Open the POS session, add products, go to Payment, select the customer and enable Invoice exactly as you always do. Nothing changes in the cashier flow.
Step 3 â Validate: no PDF download anymore
Validate the payment. The order is completed and the invoice is created in Accounting â but the browser no longer downloads the PDF automatically. Tick the box again at any time to restore the default behaviour.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the invoice still created?
Yes. Only the automatic PDF download in the browser is skipped â the invoice is posted normally and can be
printed or sent from the backend at any time.
Can I keep the download on one terminal and off on another?
Yes. The setting is per POS configuration.
Does it touch receipts?
No. Receipt printing and every other POS behaviour stay untouched.
