Bank Charges

This Odoo module enhances the payment processing by automatically calculating and including bank charges as separate lines within the payment's journal entry. It allows you to configure a default bank charge account and percentage on your bank/cash journals. During payment registration, the module computes the bank charges based on the payment amount and journal settings, ensuring these charges are directly accounted for in the payment's financial transaction.

How it Works

1. Streamlined Bank Charge Accounting :

Simplify your accounting by automatically calculating bank charges as a percentage of the total payment amount upon registration. Configure a default percentage directly on your bank accounts for seamless and accurate expense tracking:




2. Configure Bank Charge Account per Journal :

Set a specific "Default Bank Charge Account" (4411001 Bank Charges and Commission) directly on your Bank journal for automatic bank charge accounting during payment processing




3. Initiate Payment with Integrated Bank Charge Feature :

This posted customer invoice now displays the "Register Payment" option. Upon clicking this, our Bank Charges module will seamlessly integrate into the payment registration process, allowing for the automatic calculation and inclusion of bank fees within the resulting payment journal entry, based on your configured journal settings.




4. Bank Charges Applied During Payment Registration :

The "Register Payment" pop-up now includes a dedicated "Bank Charges" field. Our module automatically populates this (here: 46.62 Rs.) based on the configured percentage for the selected Bank journal, ensuring these fees are accounted for in the payment journal entry.




5. Payment Journal with Integrated Bank Charge Lines :

This posted payment journal entry now clearly displays the calculated bank charges (46.62 Rs.) as a separate line item, debited to the configured "Bank Charges and Commission" expense account. This demonstrates the module's direct inclusion of these fees within the payment's financial record.
