Overview

WMWA Task Code is a specialized extension for the Odoo Project module designed to enhance project organization through customizable task prefixes. It automatically implements a standardized naming convention for tasks, making them easier to identify, track, and reference across the organization.

What this Module Does

The module introduces a Task Code Prefix configuration at the Project level. When tasks are created within such a project, the module automatically prepends the task name with a unique code following the pattern: [Prefix-ID] Task Name (e.g., [WM-123] Develop API).

This ensures that every task has a distinct, professional identifier that persists across views and reports, eliminating ambiguity in complex projects with numerous tasks.

Installation

1. Download & Deploy: Download the wmwa_task_code module and place the folder into your Odoo custom-addons directory.
2. Server Restart: Restart your Odoo server to recognize the new module.
3. Enable Developer Mode: Activate Developer Mode from the Odoo settings.
4. Update App List: Navigate to Apps → Update Apps List.
5. Install: Search for WMWA Task Code and click Install.

Configuration & Usage

1. Navigate to the Project module.
2. Open an existing project or create a new one.
3. Go to the project's Settings tab.
4. Locate the Task Code Prefix field (e.g., enter "WM" or "DEV").
5. Save the project.
6. Any new tasks created within this project will now automatically be prefixed with the specified code and the task ID.
