Features
Available on Community and Enterprise Versions
Easily View Cash Disrepancy
Session Reports
Receive cash for Invoices/Bills in Register
Summary
In a case where the company needs a cash management solution that is not the PoS module. This serves well. You will be able to receive/disburse cash at the different cash registers and view end of session disrepancies and reports.
User Guide
Configure a cash journal
The cash journal must have at least one payment method. Select Is Cash Payment Method for the payment method that corresponds to actual physical cash. This will be useful for computation of opening and expected closing cash
Outstanding accounts must be set for all payment methods
Navigate to the cash register module and setup your first cash register. These are some fields:
- Currency: Only transactions in the set currency is allowed. No multicurrency register allowed
- Responsible: if the set user does not have admin access, they can only view and open this register
- Allowed Employees: Employees that can use the register
Start a new session by clicking the New Session button on the register kanban view
You will be presented with a dialog box. Set the cashier opening the session and the opening cash. If there is a disrepancy between opening and previous closing cash, the user will be alerted and a new unalterable transaction will be entered in the session
In the session, you can easily see expected vs actual opening and closing balances [1]
Payments/Transactions are entered at the bottom [2]. Add from Invoice/Bill options allow you to search through invoices and pay for them as you would in standard Odoo. The payment record would be recorded under the currenct session
You also have the option to print payments/transactions[3]. Printed transactions cannot be edited or deleted
There is a summary of all transactions at the bottom[4]
Click Close Session to close the session. The user will be required to count the closing cash and enter in the dialog box presented to them. Similar to opening disrepancies, closing disrepancies also trigger an unalterable transaction in the session being closed
After closing, the session is in a readonly state
