FBA Inventory & Financial Reconciliation, Inside Odoo
Connects Odoo directly to Amazon's Selling Partner API to keep FBA inventory, payment transactions, storage fees, and product margins in sync — with full accounting traceability down to the GL account level. Layered on top of Odoo's native Amazon order/delivery sync (sale_amazon).
Key Features
OAuth Authentication with Auto Token Refresh
Connect via a private SP-API application using Client ID, Client Secret, and Refresh Token. Access tokens refresh automatically before each API call — no manual re-authorization.
Multi-Region & Multi-Account Support
Run multiple Amazon backends across North America, Europe, Japan, and Australia, each scoped to its own marketplace, warehouse, and company currency.
Inbound Shipment Tracking
Track FBA and AWD inbound shipment status with expected-vs-received quantity reporting and automatic discrepancy detection.
Inventory Synchronization
Daily sync of available, reserved, inbound, and AWD quantities, plus 7/30/60/90-day shipped velocity, matched to Odoo products by SKU or ASIN.
AWD Support
Import Amazon Warehousing & Distribution inventory, storage, transportation, processing, and multi-channel distribution fees via the Odoo Documents app.
Transaction Import
Import every Amazon financial event into Odoo Accounting, with automatic mapping to 12 GL account codes by transaction/event type.
Storage Fee Import
Import monthly FBA storage fee charges per product, linked directly to accounting entries for accurate cost tracking.
Multi-Currency Support
USD-converted reporting plus an unrealized currency gain/loss reconciliation job integrated with Odoo's multicurrency revaluation wizard.
ASIN & SKU Mapping
Map Amazon ASINs to Odoo products by region, with a manual SKU/ASIN exception list for handling mismatches, plus FNSKU tracking.
FBA Analytics & Demand Forecasting
7/30/60/90-day sales velocity, days-of-inventory calculations, and quarterly demand forecasting with year-over-year trend tracking, feeding PO planning.
Product Margin Analysis
Per-product revenue, refunds, and COGS against every Amazon fee category, with USD-converted net margin and a date-range report wizard.
Inventory History
Historical inventory snapshots by date, warehouse, and product, with computed valuation for cost-basis tracking and audit purposes.
Failed Transaction Recovery
An Amazon Logger model stores the full payload of failed API calls, so failed imports can be retried with one click instead of being lost.
Automatic Scheduled Jobs
scheduled jobs cover inventory, payment, and product sync per region (daily), plus storage/AWD and maintenance jobs (off by default until configured).
Configuration & Setup Guide
Register a Private SP-API Application
In Amazon Seller Central, go to Develop Apps and register a private SP-API application. You'll receive a Client ID and Client Secret, then self-authorize to generate a Refresh Token. (This step happens entirely on Amazon's side, before any configuration in Odoo.)
Configure the Amazon Backend in Odoo
Go to Amazon → Amazon Backend and create a record per region. Enter the Client Key, Client Secret, and Refresh Token, then set the Amazon Marketplace, Region, and default customer/service product/currency on the Transaction, Inventory, and Shipment configuration tabs.
Map Products to Amazon
On each product, open the Amazon ASIN tab and set the Reference (SKU) and Fnsku fields. This is how imports match Amazon data back to the correct Odoo product.
Manage ASIN/SKU Exceptions
When an ASIN doesn't match a product's Reference or ASIN mapping automatically, add an override on the Amazon Backend record's ASIN/SKU exception list so future imports resolve it correctly.
Refresh the Access Token
On the Amazon Backend record, click Refresh Token to exchange the Refresh Token for a fresh access token before running any sync. This keeps the connection alive without repeating the Seller Central authorization flow.
Import Inventory, Transactions, Shipments & Charges
Still on the Amazon Backend record, use the remaining manual import buttons: Import Product Quantity Details to pull FBA stock levels, Import Transactions to pull financial events into Odoo Accounting, Import Shipment Details to track FBA inbound shipment status, and Import FBA Charges to pull monthly storage fee charges.
Review the FBA Inventory Dashboard
Go to Inventory → Reporting → FBA Inventory Report to see synced quantities, reserved stock, and velocity by marketplace. Use the Set SDT/Set ODT wizard on any line to edit forecast inputs manually.
Track Inbound Shipments
Go to Inventory → Reporting → Shipment Report to see every FBA/AWD inbound shipment with its status, expected quantity, received quantity, and the computed variance — populated by the Import Shipment Details button in Step 6.
Review Imported Transactions in Accounting
Go to Accounting → Customers → Invoices (or Credit Notes for refund-type events) to see the transactions pulled in by Import Transactions in Step 6. Open the Journal Items tab on any invoice to see the automatic GL account mapping by transaction/event type.
Margin Analysis in Action
Once transactions and storage fees are flowing in, open the Product Margins report to see per-product revenue, refunds, COGS, and every Amazon fee category broken out and reconciled, with USD-converted net margin. Use the Product Margin Wizard to generate a report for a specific date range.
Set Up AWD (Optional)
Mark a warehouse as AWD Warehouse and link it to a backend. Upload AWD inventory/storage/transportation/ processing files into the matching folders under the Documents app, then click Import AWD Inventory on the backend to process them and review the resulting fees. Use Import AWD Storage Charges the same way for the separate AWD storage/transportation/processing fee files.
Enable Scheduled Jobs
Once manual imports look correct, go to Settings → Technical → Scheduled Actions and filter by "Amazon" to automate them. Inventory, payment, and product-quantity sync run daily by default; storage/AWD and maintenance jobs are off by default until you enable them.
Review Inventory History
Go to Inventory → Reporting → Amazon Inventory History for historical inventory snapshots by date, warehouse, and product, with computed valuation for cost-basis tracking and audits.
Review Demand Forecasts
Go to Inventory → Reporting → Purchase Order ODT for the quarterly rolling demand forecast (current/last-year quarter comparisons and year-over-year shift), used to plan replenishment purchase orders.
Recover Failed Transactions
Go to Amazon → Amazon Logger to see any failed API calls with their full request payload. Retry a failed entry with one click instead of re-running a full sync.
Scale to Multiple Regions & Accounts
Repeat Step 2 to create additional Amazon Backend records for other regions or seller accounts (North America, Europe, Japan, Australia). Each backend syncs independently on its own schedule.
