Terminologies Explained

Adoption Request for Animals

Animal adoption is the process of taking responsibility for an animal that a previous owner has abandoned or released to a shelter or rescue organization. Common sources for adoptable animals include animal shelters and rescue groups.

Some organizations transfer full ownership of the animal to the adopter, while others follow a guardianship model, where the organization retains some control over the animals future care or use.

Request to Foster an Animal

We provide a temporary safe place for some of our most vulnerable animals to rest and heal. Foster families care for these animals until they are strong and healthy enough for adoption.

We rely on fosterers to open their homes and hearts by providing temporary care for the animals in our shelter. Fostering helps animals recover from neglect, abuse, illness, or injury, giving them the crucial first steps toward finding a loving forever home.

Request for Animal Intake

We collect information from animal owners to quickly register new patients before their first visit. We receive pet surrender requests weekly, with a current response time of 2 to 4 weeks.

After receiving your request, we will schedule a meeting with you and your pet to ensure we can safely find a great home for your animal. Finally, we will arrange a date for your pet to be relinquished to our program.
