How presets work
Preset = data record
Each preset is an aos.dashboard data record
marked with is_preset = True. It ships with
pre-configured items pointing at standard Odoo models
(account.move, sale.order, crm.lead, stock.quant,
project.task).
On install, the preset appears in the Dashboards menu with a "Preset Template" ribbon. You can view it directly or clone to customize.
Clone & customize
On any preset form, click Clone. The duplicate is unmarked as preset, has "(Copy)" appended to its name, and is fully editable. The original stays pristine across module updates.
Common customization: tighten the catalog domain, swap a pie chart for a bar chart, drop items you don't need, add custom items pointing at your own models.
Why these 4 presets?
These four presets demonstrate the
aos_dashboard_builder framework against the
four most-trafficked Odoo modules: Accounting, Sales,
Inventory, and Project. They cover the headline metrics
an executive expects to see for each functional area.
For richer / SQL-heavy dashboards (e.g. Pareto/ABC, Burn
Rate, Margin per Project), use the standalone Alphasoft
dashboard modules (aos_financial_dashboard,
aos_sales_dashboard,
aos_inventory_dashboard,
aos_project_dashboard) instead - they ship
custom SQL beyond what the configurable framework supports.

- Ensure
aos_dashboard_builderis installed. - Purchase this module.
- Install. The 4 presets are auto-created.
- Open Dashboards menu - all 4 appear with the "Preset Template" ribbon.
