Generate Multiple Serial Range
Create multiple lot/serial numbers at once instead of one by one. Pre-generate a range, optionally update inventory at a location, and see serials in the Forecasted Report.
Overview
This module adds a wizard under Inventory to create multiple lot/serial numbers in one go. Choose a product tracked by serial or lot, enter the quantity to generate, optionally set the first serial/lot name for the range, and select a Location (required) where 1 unit per serial is added so they appear in the Forecasted Report. For serial-tracked products, an Update Inventory button on the product form opens the wizard with the product pre-filled.
Key Features
Generate Multiple Serials Wizard
Create many lot/serial numbers in one step from Inventory → Products → Generate Multiple Serials.
Serial Range
Set a first name (e.g. CH1000SR1); the last number is incremented (CH1000SR2, CH1000SR3, ...).
Location Required
Choose a location; 1 unit per serial is added there so new serials show in the Forecasted Report.
Update Inventory from Product
On serial-tracked products, an "Update Inventory" button opens the wizard with product pre-filled.
Lot & Serial Tracked
Works with products tracked by unique serial number or by lot. Select product and quantity to generate.
Forecasted Report
New serials are created and stock updated at the chosen location so they appear in the Forecasted Report.
Backend
- 1. Go to Inventory → Products → Generate Multiple Serials to open the wizard.
- 2. Select a Product tracked by serial or lot, enter Quantity to generate, and choose the Location (required) where stock will be updated.
- 3. Optionally set First Serial/Lot Name (e.g. CH1000SR1) to define the range; the last number is incremented for each new serial.
- 4. For serial-tracked products, open the product form and click Update Inventory to open the wizard with the product pre-filled.
- 5. Click Generate. The lots/serials are created and 1 unit per serial is added at the selected location so they appear in the Forecasted Report.
Wizard
Use Inventory → Products → Generate Multiple Serials or the Update Inventory button on a serial-tracked product to open the wizard. Enter product, quantity, optional first name, and required location, then click Generate.
