BOM Structure & Cost Excel
Download Bill of Materials structure and cost breakdown as Excel. Hierarchical components and operations with Product Cost and BoM Cost per line.
Overview
This module lets you export a Bill of Materials (BOM) structure and cost to an Excel file (.xlsx). From any BOM form, use Action → BOM Structure Excel to open a wizard, choose a filename, and download. The Excel includes the main product and a hierarchical breakdown of components and sub-BOMs, with Product Cost (unit) and BoM Cost (total) per line. Operations are listed with duration and cost. By-products are included. Costs use the standard BOM report logic (component cost and quantity, with UoM conversion).

Excel Export
Download BOM structure and cost as .xlsx from the BOM form. Wizard lets you set the filename before download.
Hierarchical Structure
Full BOM tree: main product, components, sub-BOMs expanded, operations and by-products in one Excel sheet.
Product Cost & BoM Cost
Each line has Product Cost (unit) and BoM Cost (total). Summary row with unit cost and total BoM cost at the end.
Operations & By-products
Operations with name, duration (e.g. minutes) and cost. By-products with quantity and cost in the same report.
How to Use
- 1. Go to Manufacturing → Products → Bills of Materials and open a BOM.
- 2. Click Action in the top bar and choose BOM Structure Excel.
- 3. In the wizard, optionally change the filename (default is BOM Structure.xlsx) and click Download.
- 4. Open the Excel file to see the BOM structure with Product, BoM, Quantity, UoM, Product Cost and BoM Cost columns, plus a summary row.

FAQ
What is the difference between Product Cost and BoM Cost in the Excel?
Product Cost is the unit cost of the product/component (e.g. standard price in line UoM). BoM Cost is the total cost of that line (quantity à unit cost) contributing to the parent BOM.
Does it include sub-BOMs?
Yes. Components that have their own BOM are expanded recursively, so you see the full multi-level structure and rolled-up costs in one Excel file.
What file format is used?
The download is in .xlsx format (Excel). The default filename is BOM Structure.xlsx; you can change it in the wizard before downloading.
What dependencies does this module have?
BOM Structure & Cost Excel depends on mrp. It uses the standard BOM structure report for data and requires the xlsxwriter Python library.
