Turn on “Variants” first
This module builds on Odoo's product-attribute framework, so its configuration lives behind the standard Variants setting. Enable it once in your Sales settings. The Attribute Families and Attributes configuration menus appear, and every product gains an Attribute Families tab.
A spec sheet for every product
A structured product-information system for Odoo: capture the real specifications behind every product, reuse them by product type, and keep the data clean.
Typed spec fields
Record screen size, warranty, material or release date as proper typed fields. Numbers, dates, checkboxes, single- and multi-select, each captured with the right input.
Reusable families
Bundle the attributes a product type needs, such as Electronics, Clothing and Furniture, into one family. Assign it to a product and it inherits the whole spec sheet instantly.
Built-in data quality
Flag fields as required and Odoo tracks completeness for you. A live percentage on every product and variant, and a sortable, filterable column across the catalog.
Eight field types, one place
Every attribute is captured with the right input. Set a code and a field type once, and it renders correctly on every product that uses it.

How it works
Configure once, then every product of that type carries the same structured spec sheet.
1
Set up your attributes
Give each attribute a code and a field type. The field type decides how its value is captured on every product that uses it, as a number, a date, a checkbox or a selection.
2
Group them into a family
Create an Attribute Family for each product type and add the attributes it needs. Per attribute, choose whether it lives at product or variant level, and whether it's required.
3
Products get their spec sheet
Assign the family to a product and its Attribute Families tab fills with the right typed fields, grouped into sections. Empty required fields are flagged, and completeness updates live.
4
Track completeness across the catalog
A Completeness column, plus Completed and Not Completed filters, let you find and finish every product still missing required data before it reaches your shop.
Two levels, one form
Product level or variant level
Some specs belong to the whole product; others change with each variant. Set the level once per attribute, and the product form does the rest.
Product level
Inherited & locked
Brand, material and warranty, entered once on the product and shown read-only on every variant, so shared specifications always stay consistent.
Variant level
Editable per variant
Colour and storage, set individually on each variant. Completeness is tracked separately for the product and for each of its variants.
Everything in the box
One module, the full toolkit for structured product data.
Eight typed field types
Text, selection, multi selection, checkbox, date, date & time, whole number and decimal number.
Reusable families per product type
Define a spec sheet once and assign it to every product of that type in one click.
Grouped, sectioned spec sheets
Attributes are organised into named sections on the product's Attribute Families tab.
Product- and variant-level fields
Shared specs inherited and locked on variants; per-variant specs stay editable.
Required fields & completeness score
A live percentage per product and variant, plus a sortable column and filters.
Import/export template per family
A matching spreadsheet template is generated for every family and kept in sync.
Powers eCommerce filters
Specs feed the shop's faceted search and product comparison automatically.
Community & Enterprise
Runs on standard modules that ship with both editions, with no extra add-ons.
On your website
The same specs, live on your storefront
Attribute values sync into Odoo's product attributes, so the specs you capture appear in the shop with no extra setup.
Filter the shop by any spec
Every spec field becomes a filter in the shop sidebar. Shoppers narrow the catalog by Brand, Material, Color or Screen Size, and the facets stay in sync with the values on your products.
A Specifications table on every product
Each product page shows a Specifications block, grouped into the same sections you defined. Brand and Color sit under General, Screen Size and Warranty under Technical Specs.
Compare products side by side
Shoppers add products to a comparison and see the specs lined up in one table. The rows are the attributes you set, so the comparison is as detailed as your spec sheet.
FAQ
Do I need Odoo's “Variants” setting enabled? +
Yes. The module builds on Odoo's product-attribute framework, so its menus sit behind the standard Variants setting. Turn it on once in your Sales settings, then set up your families.
Does it interfere with product variants? +
No. Product Attribute Families is its own product-specification system, storing structured data in dedicated fields. It doesn't change how variants work. Your existing colour/size variants keep functioning exactly as before, and the specs you capture also feed the website's attribute filters.
Which field types are available? +
Eight: Text, Selection, Multi Selection, Checkbox, Date, Date & Time, Whole Number and Decimal Number. Selection and Multi Selection draw their options from the attribute's own values.
Can I bulk-edit specs in a spreadsheet? +
Yes. Every family automatically gets a matching import/export template (named “Family (AF)”), pre-filled with its attribute codes plus the usual product fields. It stays in sync as you edit the family, so importing or exporting specs in bulk works out of the box.
Do the specs work with the website filters? +
Yes. Attribute values are synced into Odoo's product attribute lines, so they power faceted search and product comparison on the eCommerce shop, the same way native attributes do.
What happens to my existing products on install? +
Nothing breaks. Every existing product is assigned a Default family, so the Attribute Families tab is there and empty. You roll out real families for each product type at your own pace.
Community or Enterprise? +
Both. It builds on standard modules that ship with Community and Enterprise alike: Sales, eCommerce (Website Sale), Inventory, Purchase and Product.
