Unique Code for Contacts - User Guide
1. Install the Module
Install the "Unique Code for Contacts" module from the Apps menu.
2. Open Technical Settings
Go to Settings → Technical → Sequences to configure the contact sequence.
3. Configure Sequence
Set the required prefix or suffix and ensure the sequence code is res.partner.sequence.
4. Create New Contact
Create a new contact. The reference is generated automatically. You can also click the "Generate" button to create a unique reference with prefix or suffix.
5. View Generated Reference
The contact reference is created with the configured prefix or suffix.
6. Generate for Existing Records
Select multiple contacts in list view, click the Action menu, and choose "Generate Unique Reference" to generate references in bulk.
7. Instant Generation Result
Unique codes are generated instantly for all selected records.
8. Reference Visible in Kanban View
The generated unique reference is also displayed directly in the Kanban view, allowing quick identification of contacts without opening the form view.
9. Search by Reference
You can search contacts using the unique reference directly from the search bar. The system supports partial and full reference matching.
10. View Search Results
Matching records are instantly displayed based on the entered reference, helping users quickly locate specific contacts.
