Package Management Chain

Efficiently manage package movements through your warehouse chain

Overview

The Package Management Chain module provides a comprehensive solution for managing package movements through a defined warehouse chain, ensuring optimal inventory levels at each location.

This module enables warehouse managers to define minimum quantity levels for products in specific locations and automatically triggers replenishment through the warehouse chain when quantities fall below the defined thresholds.

Key Features

Defined Warehouse Chain

Establish a structured flow of packages through your warehouse with a clearly defined chain:

  • Pick Zone
  • Short Term Location
  • Medium Term Location
  • Long Term Location
  • Bulk Storage Location
Minimum Quantity Rules

Set minimum quantity rules for products in specific locations, ensuring you always maintain optimal stock levels throughout your warehouse.

Package-Based Replenishment

When product quantities fall below defined minimums, the system intelligently selects packages containing the required products and creates transfer orders to move them through the chain.

Step-by-Step Chain Transfers

Packages move systematically through each location in the chain, requiring validation at each step for complete control and visibility.

Automated Replenishment

Optional scheduled task checks minimum quantity rules and automatically creates the necessary transfers to maintain stock levels.

Benefits

Warehouse Efficiency

  • Streamline package movement through defined paths
  • Reduce manual tracking and decision-making
  • Automate routine replenishment processes

Inventory Optimization

  • Maintain optimal stock levels at each location
  • Prevent stockouts in critical picking areas
  • Efficiently utilize warehouse space

How It Works

  1. Define Chain Structure - Connect locations through the package supply chain relationship
  2. Set Minimum Quantities - Define minimum product quantities for each location
  3. Monitor Levels - The system checks current quantities against minimum levels
  4. Trigger Replenishment - When quantities fall below minimums, replenishment is triggered
  5. Chain Transfers - Packages move through the chain in sequential transfers

Note: Each transfer in the chain requires validation before the next transfer is created, ensuring complete control over the movement process.

Configuration

Setting up the Package Management Chain module is straightforward:

  1. Configure your warehouse locations in the chain using the Package Supply field
  2. Define minimum quantity rules for products in specific locations
  3. Optional: Enable the scheduled task for automatic replenishment

Best Practice: Start with a few key products and gradually expand as you become familiar with the system's operation.
