Odoo's own German UStVA (Umsatzsteuervoranmeldung) export exists, but it is tucked away inside the generic Tax Report screen alongside dozens of unrelated buttons and filters.

This module adds a standalone "ELSTER UStVA Export" menu under Accounting > Reporting. Pick the company and reporting period, click Generate, and the module calls straight into Odoo's own official German tax report engine to compute every Kennziffer for that period. The values are shown in a clear review table before you Download the XML - and every export you ever generate stays on record, with a full chatter audit trail.

1. Open the ELSTER UStVA Export Menu
Go to Accounting > Reporting > ELSTER UStVA Export to see every export you have ever generated, at a glance.
2. Create a New Export
Click New - the form shows the company, Steuernummer, reporting period, and a Generate button, with the Kennziffer table ready underneath.
3. Pick the Company and Period
Select the company to file for and the exact reporting period - a month, a quarter, or any custom range.
4. Generate and Review the Kennziffer Values
Click Generate - the module computes every Kennziffer via Odoo's own German tax report and lists them clearly, so you can sanity-check the numbers before filing.
5. Download the ELSTER-Compliant XML
Click Download XML to get the file ready for upload to Mein ELSTER or your ERiC-based submission tool. The export stays on record for future reference.

Step 1 - Set the Company Steuernummer
Make sure the company's St.-Nr. (Steuernummer) is filled in on the company record. The export will refuse to generate with a clear message if it's missing.
Step 2 - Open ELSTER UStVA Export
Go to Accounting > Reporting > ELSTER UStVA Export and click New.
Step 3 - Choose Company and Period
Select the company to file for, then set the Period Start and Period End dates for the filing.
Step 4 - Generate and Review
Click Generate. The Kennziffer Lines tab fills in with every computed code, its description, and its report balance - review the numbers before filing.
Step 5 - Download and File
Click Download XML and upload the file to Mein ELSTER or your ERiC-based submission tool. Need to fix something afterwards? Use Reset to Draft and regenerate.
Pro Tip - Keep a Record Per Period
Create one export record per filing period instead of reusing and regenerating the same one - that way the list view becomes a complete, searchable history of every UStVA filing your company has made.
