POS Cash Discount Approval
Overview
The POS Cash Discount Approval module for Odoo allows businesses to provide controlled cash and percentage discounts directly from the POS interface. With this module, managers can define discount limits for each cashier, ensuring proper authorisation and preventing misuse of discount functionality.
This module enhances POS security, improves billing flexibility, and ensures only authorised users can apply higher-than-allowed discounts.
Key Features
Configuration
- Activate Developer Mode
- Go to Settings ▸ Technical ▸ Activate Developer Mode.
- Enable POS Discount Approval for Managers
- Navigate to Settings ▸ Users & Companies ▸ Users.
- Open the required user and enable POS Discount Approval.
- Set User Discount Limits
- Go to Settings ▸ Users & Companies ▸ Users ▸ Discount Limit.
- For each POS user, configure:
- Cash Limit
- Percentage Limit
- These limits determine how much discount a user can apply without approval.
- Configure Global Discounts:
- Go to Point of Sale ▸ Configuration ▸ Settings.
- Enable Global Discounts and specify:
- Discount Percentage
- Cash Discount
- These values define the maximum allowed discount at the POS level.
Functional Workflow
Once configured:
- Cashiers apply discounts using the Actions button in the POS interface.
- If the applied discount exceeds the user’s limit, a validation pop-up appears.
- If the applied discount exceeds the Global Discount configuration, an approval request is automatically sent to the manager.
- The manager can approve or reject the discount request.
- Until approval is granted, the POS order cannot be validated.
