Delivery Ups Rest Extra Options
Description
This module is designed to transmit additional shipping information to UPS.
Configuration
Navigate to the Sales app, and under the Configuration menu, select the Settings option to set a value in “UPS Declared Value Limit” under the shipping section.
Functionality
Navigate to the Inventory app, and under the Configuration menu, locate “Shipping Methods”. In the list of shipping methods, choose/create the UPS provider, fill in the necessary credentials, and set UPS Service Type to “UPS 2nd Day”.
In the Sales app, locate the Orders menu to choose the Customers option. Under the Sales & Purchase tab, set the Delivery Method to UPS provider (UPS SOD TEST).
Create a quotation with the customer for which the delivery method is set as “UPS SOD TEST”. It can be seen that the Delivery Method, Shipping Term, and Carrier Account are propagated to the sales order.
Note: Delivery Method, Shipping Term, and Carrier Account fields can be edited from a sales order in draft state.
Now, add the shipping by clicking the Add shipping button and choose the Shipping method as “UPS SOD TEST”.
Now confirm the quotation and click on the delivery order.
In the delivery order, clicking on the “Additional Info” tab reveals several booleans, namely “Residential address”, “Send Declared Value”, “Direct Delivery Only”, “Saturday Delivery”, “Negotiated Rates”, “Commercial Invoice Removal Indicator”, and “Hold for Pickup Indicator”.
If any of these booleans are enabled, those will be displayed on the PDF once the UPS shipping is processed.
After clicking “Put in Pack”, select the “Delivery Package Type" as “UPS Package/Customer Supplied”.
This will prompt the option to enable UPS shipping tracking. Additionally, it will display the UPS Declared Value limit. The UPS Declared Value will be limited to the value set in the “UPS Declared Value Limit” field on the Settings page.
Validate the delivery order, which displays the logs for tracking details. Clicking the PDF will show the package details.
Navigate to the Sales app, and under the Configuration menu, select the Delivery Methods option.
If the UPS Service Type is set as UPS Saver, the UPS shipping method can be utilized for international deliveries.
Create a sales order and add shipping, for which a delivery order is generated.
In the delivery order, enable the “Commercial Invoice Removal Indicator” boolean under the "Additional Info” tab.
Click on the Put in Pack button and set the “Delivery Package Type” as “UPS package/customer supplied”. It can be seen that the information is propagated to the package details.
The UPS shipping details can be seen in the logs. Open the UPS commercial label to view the package details.
Navigate to the sales app and set the UPS Service Type as “UPS Ground”.
Create a sales order for the customer configured with shipping term details.
When the “Shipping Term” and the “Delivery Method” fields are set, then the “3rd party billing” and “Carrier Account” details will be automatically updated based on the configuration of the contact to the sales order and delivery order.
Validate the delivery order, then click on PDF in the log. The shipping term can be seen as “Billing: 3rd Party”.
Again, create a sales order with the shipping term set as Collect and click on the delivery smart button.
Add the package and validate the delivery order. Click on the PDF to view the shipping terms as Bill Receiver.
