Bus Booking Management System in Odoo

In Odoo a Bus Booking Management System where portal users can book buses based on their selected route, bus type, and preferred date and time. Only buses matching the selected criteria are loaded, and users can select seats that are available; already booked seats are disabled and displayed in a different color. The seat status is visually represented—booked seats, available seats, and selected seats all have distinct colors. For every selected seat, passenger details must be entered before proceeding. Once the booking is confirmed and the payment is successfully completed, the trip is marked as confirmed. At that point, a downloadable ticket is generated, and booking confirmation is sent to the passenger via email, SMS, and WhatsApp, based on the configured messaging settings. If a trip does not already exist for the selected route and date, a new trip is automatically created; otherwise, the booking is linked to the existing trip. After payment, a record is saved in the payment logs. This entire booking flow also works through the admin dashboard, where the route and date selection dynamically loads matching buses, and only unbooked seats can be selected. Upon booking confirmation, passenger details are required, notifications are sent, entries are created in both the trip and payment records, and users can print or email tickets. Additionally, tickets can be canceled based on the ticket number, and detailed reports can be generated to track seat bookings by route.

Booking Cancellation
Users can cancel their bus booking by entering their ticket number. Once verified, the system processes the cancellation, sends a confirmation via email (and optionally via SMS or WhatsApp), and immediately marks the canceled seats as available for the same trip. The seat layout updates in real time, and any applicable cancellation policy (like charges or time limits) is applied and shown to the user. This ensures smooth and efficient seat management.

Once confirmed and payment is done, a ticket is generated, and
confirmation is sent via SMS, email, and WhatsApp. The booking is
recorded, and if no trip exists for that date and route, a new trip
is automatically created.

Cabin Officer Dashboard
On the Cabin Officer Dashboard, users first select the start point,
end point, and journey date. Based on this, the system loads all
available buses and routes for that day, showing key details like
bus name, timings, fare, seat availability, and amenities.
Clicking on a bus shows its seat layout, with color-coded seats:
green (available), red/grey (booked), and blue (selected). Users can
easily choose their seats, view fare, and proceed to enter passenger
details.
After seat selection and filling in details, users can confirm
booking. A ticket is generated with all info (bus name, seat
numbers, timing, etc.) and sent via email, SMS, or WhatsApp. The
process is fast, user-friendly, and fully interactive.

Bus Booking Trip
Users can quickly book bus trips by selecting their start point,
destination, and journey date. The system then displays a list of
active trips for that day, with real-time seat availability.
Each trip is tied to a specific bus and route, showing a seat layout
where: Available,Booked,Selected
After selecting seats, users fill in passenger details and confirm
the booking.
Once booked:
A ticket is generated with complete trip and passenger info.
The ticket can be printed or sent via WhatsApp, SMS, or Email.
Admins can also print trip reports showing seat bookings and
passenger lists.

Ticket Cancellation
Users can easily cancel their bus booking by entering their ticket
number in the cancellation section. Once the ticket number is
verified, the system checks the booking status and allows the
cancellation to proceed. After a successful cancellation, a
confirmation message is sent to the user via email, and optionally
through SMS or WhatsApp. The canceled seats instantly become
available again for the same trip and route, allowing others to book
them in real time. The seat layout is automatically updated to
reflect this change, with the seats shown as available (usually in
green). If a cancellation policy is in place—such as deduction
charges or time limits—it is applied and shown to the user during
the cancellation process. This ensures efficient seat management and
a smooth experience for both users and operators.

he system allows you to automatically send booking information to
passengers through SMS, WhatsApp, and Email, based on the configured
communication preferences. As soon as a booking is confirmed, the
system checks the configured settings and sends the ticket details
accordingly.

The message format is fully customizable and can be tailored to

Reporting
In the bus booking system, you can generate and print detailed
booking reports based on selected routes and dates. When the user
selects a specific start point, end point, and journey date, the
system fetches all the trips scheduled for that route on the
selected day. It then compiles a report that includes all booked
seats, along with passenger details like name, contact, seat number,
and ticket number.
This report is particularly useful for conductors or on-ground
staff, as it provides a complete list of passengers for each route
and trip, ensuring smooth boarding and verification. The report is
formatted clearly, grouped route and date-wise, and can be printed
directly from the system.
This functionality helps improve coordination, enables better
passenger management, and ensures every trip is backed by a clear,
route-specific manifest that can be handed over to the conductor for
confirmation.
