Global Search
The Global Search app is a powerful tool designed to allow Odoo users to search across all configured models and fields globally. With customizable configuration settings, you can define exactly which models and fields to include in your search results. The module supports One2many field searching, message content searching, and operates with multi-company support. Built for efficiency and speed, it provides a unified search interface to access records, menus, and discussions instantly.

Search Configuration
If you give the user the GlobalSearchManager access, the Global Search menu will be visible; otherwise, it will remain hidden.
Model Selection
Select which models to include in the global search from a comprehensive list.
Field Mapping
Map specific fields for each model to ensure precise search results.
Advanced Search
Use the advanced search interface to find records across the system.
Unified Results
All your search results in one place, categorized for easy access.
You can see that the record was not found from the Sales Order search because the Sales Order is not active/enabled.
You can see that after enabling Active, the record can now be found by searching from the Sales Order.
Message Search
Find information hidden in chatter messages and discussions.
You can see that the Sales Order S00019 has a message in its chatter.
You can see that no records are found from the Sales Order because the “Search in Message” field is not active.
You can see that after I enabled it, the record is now visible from the Sales Order.
You can see from there that a description has been added in the Sales Order.
Adding fields in “Search Fields” gives more search options; matching records in Sales Order will be returned. Example: If you add the Terms and Conditions field and search a description, the system will return the Sales Order that matches it.
We can also search based on group/security. For example, the logged-in user must be an Administrator for the search to return records. If a normal user performs the search, no records will be found from the Sales Order.
The user does not have Administrator access in Sales, so the record is not returned from the Sales Order search. You can check this here.
Sales Administrator access has been given, and now you can see that records are being found from the Sales Order.
