Helpdesk Ticket Lock/Unlock in Odoo

Helpdesk Ticket Lock/Unlock Odoo app gives support teams better control over ticket handling by
allowing users to lock tickets while working on them. Once a ticket is locked, only the user who
locked it can make changes or unlock it. Other users are restricted from editing or unlocking
the ticket, and if they try, the system will display a warning message showing that the ticket
is locked by another user.
The app also records a full lock history, including the user who locked the ticket and how long
it remained locked. This prevents editing conflicts, avoids duplicate work, and ensures that
sensitive updates are secure. Team members can clearly see which tickets are locked, by whom,
and for how long, creating accountability and smooth workflow.
This feature is especially useful for busy helpdesk teams where multiple users handle tickets,
ensuring that only one person is actively updating a ticket at a time.
Features

You need to lock the ticket Click on the ‘Lock Ticket’ button to lock the ticket.

Clicking the ‘Lock Ticket’ button will open a popup where you can select the date until which you want to lock the ticket.

Here you can see the message that the ticket has been locked, and except for the admin, no one else can edit it. You can also view the ticket history to see who locked the ticket.

Another user is trying to unlock the ticket by clicking the 'Unlock Ticket' button.

If the user who locked the ticket is not the same user who trying to unlock the ticket than it will raise an waring.

A warning message will also appear if another user attempts to edit the ticket.
