Landed Cost Reset Odoo App
Landed Cost Reset Odoo App adds a Reset to Draft button on a validated landed
cost, so you can undo a posted landed cost in one click instead of being stuck with it. Out of
the box, once a landed cost is validated in Odoo, there is no clean way to pull it back, which
makes a wrong amount or a mis-split charge painful to fix.
When you reset, the app does the cleanup for you. It reverses and removes the journal entry the
landed cost created, puts each affected product cost back to what it was, and clears the
valuation adjustments that were applied. The record returns to draft, ready for you to correct
the figures and validate again.
This is for inventory and accounting teams who deal with freight, customs, insurance, and
handling charges and need a safe way to fix a landed cost mistake without manual journal edits
or leftover valuation entries.
Features
Reset a Validated Landed Cost
A Reset to Draft button appears on validated landed costs, letting you pull a posted landed cost back to draft in one click.
Automatic Journal Entry Cleanup
The journal entry created when the landed cost was posted is reversed and removed for you, so the books stay clean after a reset.
Product Cost Restored
Each affected product cost is rolled back to its value before the landed cost was applied, so inventory valuation returns to where it started.
Valuation Adjustments Cleared
The valuation adjustment lines the landed cost added to your stock are removed during the reset, leaving no leftover entries behind.
Average and FIFO Aware
The reset handles products costed by average or FIFO, and lot-valued products too, so the right cost is restored across multiple products in one landed cost.
Correct and Re-Validate
Once back in draft, you can fix the charge amount or the split and validate again, without deleting and rebuilding the whole landed cost.
Starting Product Cost
Before any landed cost is applied, each product shows its base cost on the product form. Here the two products carry their original cost, the baseline the reset will return to.
Purchase Order
A purchase order for the two products, the goods that will later receive the extra landed charges.
Goods Receipt
The receipt for the purchased goods. This is the transfer the landed cost is linked to when the extra charges are distributed.
Create and Validate the Landed Cost
A landed cost adds an extra charge, here a 20.00 shipping charge split equally across the receipt. Clicking Validate applies the charge to product cost.
Valuation Adjustment Lines
The Valuation Adjustments tab shows how the charge was split. Each product picks up its share of the cost, with the original value, new value, and added amount listed per line.
Updated Product Cost After Validation
After validation, each product cost rises by its share of the charge. The product form now shows the higher landed cost for both items.
Reset to Draft
On the validated landed cost, the Reset to Draft button added by this app pulls the record back to draft. The status moves from Posted back to Draft and the Validate button returns, ready for corrections.
Product Cost Restored
After the reset, each product cost goes back to its starting value. The extra charge is removed and the cost matches what it was before the landed cost was applied.
Stock Valuation After Reset
The inventory valuation list reflects the reset: the affected products show their restored unit cost and total value, with the landed cost adjustment no longer included.
